Alhamdulillah. After another long season, and despite all the “experts” doubting us, and several former Ballers leaving the orange and black to join other teams thinking the Ballers would no longer be in the hunt for the SASL crown, the Ballers have come through yet again, shocking three of the top powerhouses in the SASL [...]

Congrats to the 2008 SABL Champions, The Basketballers!
Mad props to Omair, Sajeel, Nadeem, Talha, Usman, Nabeel, Naveed, Zeeshan, Atif, and Amir.

The Softballers defeated The Titans 67-55 to win the 2008 SABL Championship. However, the game was filled with its own drama. The first half went back and forth most of the way. The Ballers’ [...]

What a season. Alhamdulillah.
While we had the best record this season in the SASL, this season was still a disappointment. Coming off a great 2006 season in which we swept through the playoffs en route to our championship, anything but a repeat would certainly be a failure - and today we failed.
However, I must give [...]

The Softballers finished the SASL season in 1st place with a 16-4 Record. After an amazing night of wild card saturday night playoff baseball at Wantagh Park, the Warriors (10th Place) emerged to take on the defending champs in a first round best-of-three series this afternoon at Cantiague Park.

GAME ONE: Softballers 10 - Warriors [...]

After a SASL-Record, 19 game win streak (extending from last season), the Softballers were finally dealt their first loss of the season this afternoon to The Dynasty.
Our offense was lacking in a poor showing in our game 1 loss. Their star pitcher, Abishek, pitched a lights out performance with 6 shutout innings against the [...]

We continued our dominance of the SASL yet again this week back to back wins over the Hustlaz (1-9). For those of you keeping count at home, thats 19 wins in a row for the ‘Ballers extending from last season!!!!

Another week of SASL action, another couple of wins for the ‘Ballers. Alhamdulillah.
Here is a video of All-Star RCF/P Naveed Ahmed putting eye-black on 3B Ahmad Ghumman, LF Nabeel Haque, and P & Captain, Usman Arshad Ghumman:

The Softballers defeated the Hitmen in back to back games this afternoon at Cantiague Park by the scores [...]

So far we’re 6-0 this season, that’s 15 straight wins extending from last season/playoffs!!!
The following news/recap is courtesy of Nehari Bihari:
All-star 3B, Ahmad Ghumman of the undefeated Softballers, suffered a hairline fracture on his right hand today in the first game against Warriors.
Ghumman was trying to break up a double play on a grounder [...]

The 2007 SASL Season is about to enter it’s third week of action. With an off-season featuring many roster moves and the addition of four new teams, this season should be even more competitive than last year.
Here are my power rankings for the upcoming season.
1. Softballers (4-0) - To be the best you have to [...]

My friend and teammate (fellow Softballer) has recently started a great new blog: (And im not just saying that cuz hes my friend!)
Nehari Bihari.
Thus far, it features two hilarious and quite profound analyses of the Best Indian Movie Fight Scenes of All Time, and a comparision of the Indian versions of Superman and Thriller. [...]

*BREAKING SASL NEWS*
Raheel, Farhan, Nabeel, Ammad, Danish, and Harpreet have left the Hitmen.
Harpreet has joined Dynasty, while Raheel has re-joined the Softballers as bench coach.
All other players are currently free agents excercising their options.
More news will be updated as it is revealed.

It is with deep regret and profound sadness that I inform you all that our all-star second baseman and first-baseman, Farhan Qureshi & Raheel Malick have chosen to exercise the unrestricted free-agency clause of their contracts. They have opted to join the Hitmen, which coincidentally is captained by none other than League Commissioner, Ammad Sheikh. [...]
