After decades of rumors about Michael Jackson’s faith. The former pop icon and devout Jehovah’s Witness Christian has taken the Shahadah and is now officially Muslim!

According to The Sun, Michael Jackson celebrated after accepting Islam with Yusuf Islam. Apparently, Michael Jackson was counseled by Dawud Wharnsby Ali and Idris Phillips. Who knew they were all friends?? lol

Nonetheless, I hope Mikaeel Jackson, turns his life around and continues to improve his relationship with his Creator. And who knows… maybe the king of pop will return to the music scene. I can’t wait for his future songs with Yusuf Islam, Dawud Wharnsby, or even Sami Yusuf… :)

    Sallam alaykum.

Take it with a pinch of salt sidi Haseeb. The Sun isn’t that all reliable.

However, if it is true, then Alhamdulillah :)

    “Jacko now prays *to* Mecca”

    *towards*

I hate it when Muslims are portrayed as worshipping either the Quran/the Prophet and now Mecca…. :(

but if its true… then hope everything goes well with him inshAllah, :D

Are you sure this is true? I can’t find this corroborated anywhere.

So far, it’s looking like a fake to me..

I wish a celebrity who isnt a pedophile and has a nose had converted instead

    There goes the neighborhood!

Just kidding. Seriously, I hope he will be blessed, and that he will find the guidance he needs to stop being so WEIRD.

    ASA,

I think its true. Its reported by AP too. And given the circumstances I saw it coming. I just hope he doesn’t embarrass us ..lol

Guys- dont you think your being a little harsh there :(

I mean isn’t the beauty of our religion the fact that once you’ve become muslim thats it your completly sin-free like a new-born baby??? hence, the fact that if Allah (SWT) forgives all his sins, then who the hell are we to make judgements???

i honestly do hope he became a mulim despite what hes done in he “past “i really dont see any harm done, but what if its just another fake so dont keep ur hopes up!!

    Asalamu Alaykum

IF he is a Muslim now then we should make sure to keep him in our dua’s. As much has his reputation isnt so good, he is “new born” now and I pray to Allah (SWT) that with the public eye on him he will do this Ummah a great service by protraiting this religion in the best of manners.

A smash hit on the pop charts(with no instruments) crying out to Allah (SWT) to forgive us would be amazing!

or a remake on that one sound… ” beat it shaytan, beat it shaytan.. lol

Allahu Akbar this is good news..all we need now is the other MJ Jordan :)

Thank you “one ummah” for speaking some sense, the rest of you should be ashamed, what happened to “husna dhan” (having a good opinion), as far as the past, we don’t talk about that, Umar (R) buried his own daughter alive before coming to Islam so all those comments about his past are innappropriate, we really need to get back in touch with our tradition… some muslims are so immature

    For real??? ALHAMDULILLAH! HEEHEEEEEEeeeeeee

    SHAMOAN!!!

  13. 13 Arslan from: United States usyour flag

I don’t see why people are making it seem as though most people who commented here made inappropriate comments about his past, when it was really only one or two people, and even those weren’t so harsh..

  14. 14 Rissa from: Canada cayour flag

Salams. Somehow I doubt Yusuf nor Dawud had anything to do w/his converting. If he indeed converted. Allahu alem. Also, if he converted.. hopefully now inshallah he won’t act so very strange…

Salams. Commenting again to ask… WHY DOES IT SAY I’M FROM/IN CANADA? I’m from/in the U.S. WHY COULDN’T IT SAY THAT ON THAT OTHER COMMENT I POSTED? haha.

    As salamu alaykum.

Alhamdulilah being that he reverted to Islam I hope the best for him and insha’Allah (SWT) make changes and increase his iman. I’ve heard about things he done in the past and I hope insha’Allah (SWT) that the brothers who are friends with him (now brothers of Islam with him) are going to advise him thoroughly so he does not make any more mistakes! Now that he’s gotten all the media’s attention, it’s vital for him to understand that he shouldn’t be doing things he did before otherwise it MAY make people view Muslims the wrong way and then my non-Muslim parents are going to say “See Muslims are bad people, look what *insertnamehere* did!” . I hope he makes a change and make Muslims look good insha’Allah (SWT) (because many Westerners happen to feel otherwise)

And everyone, lets try to be nice and not make comments against our brother, this is considered backbiting! I never had anything against him before he reverted, but it’s not very nice to insult someone and say things that are mean and hurtful. Now that his sins are forgiven, we should be encouraging, not discouraging!

I am a revert myself =) <3 By the way, Eid Mubarak everyone.

On his Myspace, Dawud Wharnsby wrote a blog post dismissing the claim that he and Idris counseled Michael Jackson. He didn’t say anythign specifically about whether or not Michael actually converted, but this does shed more doubt upon the story.
