Earlier this year, a New York City councilman and 12 colleagues have sponsored Resolution 1281, calling on the state to require the Department of Education to incorporate the Muslim holidays of Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha as observed holidays in the city’s public school calendar [FinalCall News]. There will be a hearing this Friday, September 26, 2008, at 10AM at City Council chambers to pass resolution 1281.

If you are free Friday Morning, and especially if you from New York City and have children/siblings/relatives in the NYC Public School System, please come out to City Hall Friday and support this resolution!
