For those of you who took it seriously - and got the wrong impression from the prank - i would like to apologize. Marriage is a serious topic, and in fact many of us have great difficulties with the whole matchmaking process and or if already married, may have serious issues with our spouses, etc. By no means do i intend to make light of the reality of the severity of these issues. It was a silly prank, which may have gone overboard and probably wouldve been best suited for close friends of mine only instead of publicly on the web. I humbly ask for your forgiveness if you took this prank the wrong way. Please make dua for me.
Over the years, ive gotten to know many people through this website. And Ive received quite a few emails from various sisters and brothers throughout the world asking me if i know of any suitable spouses in New York. In fact quite a few people I know became introduced to one another through my site, including a good friend of mine whos now very happily married (Alhamdulillah!).
Given the lack of quality in most other Muslim matrimonial sites like shaadi.com, naseeb.com, singlemuslim.com, and others, i thought it would be best to start my own matrimonial site, HAhmed.com Halal Hookups.
Now before you start to laugh at me, and wonder why I would start such a site when so many other sites already exist, HAhmed.com Halal Hookups is quite unique for several reasons:
1. HAhmed.com Halal Hookups is 100% Shariah Complaint (hence, halal!).
2. I am working with my good friend who is studying to become a certified Family/Marital Counselor. All “hookups” will be pre-screened through a team of marital counselors to ensure compatability.
3. This site is not only for single Muslims, but also married couples! Unfortunately many Muslim couples, once married, find out married life isnt all that its idealized to be and face many difficulties. We will find you a local marital counselor that will help serve your needs and bring sakeenah back into your marriage.
4. And finally, we also have a special hookup section for brothers who want to obtain a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th wife. (Permission from the 1st wife is required.)

Umm, if this is in fact serious, I don’t think you guys should be condoning polygamy, particularly in the West where that 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) wife’s status will legally be a mistress and any children with her considered born out of wedlock.

Hmmm… I like the concept but what will prevent this from becoming the next shaadi.com? I like the idea of the team of matrimonial people.. Also in our communities we don’t have that, marriage counselors which end up hurting many marriages.. Just my two cents..

My husband and I actually ran a thing on an old forum called “Halal Hookups”. We had a few brothers and sisters who helped us look through applications, and we had quite a few of them. We were going to make it big but alhamdulillah things happened in our lives and we had to move on. We were all for making it completely halal, and we put our outmost energy into it. The hooking people up days are over, though. Alhamdulillah! Too much stress!

One thing that I would also suggest is using already married couples to help network and get unmarried couples married. Use your resources in other words and your success stories to figure out what are the keys to makeing this succeed and follow that rubric.

So I was trying to sign up to help you out with your new venture and I find out it’s a joke… I should of known. That’s it, I’m never gonna try to help you out again!
Lying is haraam, period. Joke or no joke, lying is haraam and as Muslims we should not promote lying in the name of jokes and foolishness. Check with any shaykh or imam or any learned islamic scholar. If you find one that condones this type of April Foolishness then please let me know and I will retract this statement.

I’ll be honest, I didnt like this joke too much. You know how many people are trying to get married and all and how hard it is to found a spouse. Then the million others that are married having marital issues. You crushed our hopes, we were like a serious project like this.

I guess this post was more directed only to my friends/ regular readers - who know me better and expected something special from me on April 1st.
