Chak De - Great Indian Movie
Published by Haseeb August 14th, 2007 in Bollywood, Movies, TelevisionIn a summer filled with many great blockbuster movies (I havent seen most of them), I thought I’d shed some light on Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie, Chak De! Although I am not a bollywood fan, I saw this film a couple of days ago at the request of my visiting cousin from Pakistan, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Why? Because it wasnt a typical Indian movie.
The main character, Shah Rukh Khan, had NO love interest, and there was no breaking into song and dance in the entire film!!!
Chak De is a great inspirational sports thriller about a former Indian field hockey player, Kabir Khan, who was shunned by his entire country for missing a world-cup tying goal against Pakistan. After leaving his home to remain in seclusion for seven years, he decides to regain his reputation by coaching an awful and unorganized women’s field hockey team, and lead them to great success. My favorite part of the movie was when the team was at their low-point, coach Kabir Khan made a sincere devout dua to Allah
asking for help and to grant him success
I highly recommend this movie for people of all ages. It is a great film about embracing diversity, team unity, empowering women, overcoming obstacles, and importance of hard work and dua. It is currently playing worldwide.

No love!? A biddah bollywood film! haha
…..let me get this straight….
The lead male actor made du’a to Allah
(swt) for helping out his bunch of GM un-hijabi’s win a meaningless match
- why was he not doing some astaghfars instead for not lowering the gaze?
Go watch it people
… maybe the du’aa bit in the movie will inspire you too there’s no love interest in the movie which is a bonus… highly recommended indeed especially for those who remain untouched by the bollywood taint
what is the meaning of ‘chak de’?
I think it just means “lets go” - or something like that
simply awesum………really a must watch……..one of the masterpieces of bollywood after RDB and Black
