Imam Suhaib Webb Joins Al-Maghrib

Source: Mujahideen Ryder

Imam Suhaib Webb, 35 years old, a former DJ from California, has served as Imam of The Islamic Society to Greater Oklahoma City/ teacher at a local Islamic school until 2004, where he went overseas to Al-Azhar to continue his Islamic Studies. Meanwhile he has given talks across the world, and is also a teacher for SunniPath. He is indeed one of the rare Islamic scholars both fully grounded in the traditional sciences, and fully understands what it means to grow up Muslim in the west. It is great to see him join one of the most popular Islamic organizations in North America, The Al Maghrib Institute – and I hope that his classes will not only benefit Muslims across the world, but also help curb the silly sufi-salafi divides so many of our youth quarrel over.

For more information on Shaykh Suhaib Webb, check out his blog at SuhaibWebb.com, where he regularly posts articles, and translations [from diverse scholars, including Shaykh Abdullah Bin Bayyah (one of Shaykh Hamza's beloved teachers)]!

And here is a recent great talk given by Imam Suhaib in the UK on Islamic Maturity and Islamic Unity:
