Orphan Walk 2007: This Saturday @ Flushing Meadow!

Goals:
1. raise money for orphans (all proceed to islamic relief’s program )
2. raise awareness about our duty to orphans as Muslims
3. engage in an activity that was beloved by our Prophet (salalahu ‘alayhee was salam)
4. build stronger bonds within the community
Venue: Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens
Date: Saturday, June 23, 2007, 10am-4pm
Activities: Orphan Walk, Talk by Khalid Latif, Sports Activities (Brothers’ Basketball Competition & Sisters’ Volleyball Competition) & Food
“And they feed, for the love of Allah
(God), the poor, the orphan, and the captive…” [Surah al-Insaan, 8]
Narrated by Sahl bin Sad: The Prophet pbuh said “I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in paradise like this,” putting his index finger and middle finger together. (Sahih Al Bukhari Vol 8 Hadith No. 34)

Minimum Suggested Donation for Orphan walk is $15 per person.
Checks will be collected at registration the day of the walk.
