My Late 2007 SASL Season Preview
Published by Haseeb May 4th, 2007 in Softballers, SportsThe 2007 SASL Season is about to enter it’s third week of action. With an off-season featuring many roster moves and the addition of four new teams, this season should be even more competitive than last year.
Here are my power rankings for the upcoming season.
1. Softballers (4-0) - To be the best you have to beat the best - and until anyone dethrones us - the 2006 Defending Champs are will continue to be the best in the SASL. With 6 Legitimate MVP Candidates (Zeeshan, Usman, Ahmad, Nadeem, Talha & Naveed), along with its deep solid supporting cast, including SASL Rookies Ali Ghumman and Saquib Siddiqui (and a not so bad Right Fielder too), there is no denying our domination of the SASL - both offensively and defensively. (I am not gonna lie - I will miss Farhan and Raheel* :(, not only for their talent - but they were great teammates who we had alot of fun with.)
Last year, the Softballers were the SASL’s premiere team with not only their on-field performance, which can be classified as nothing less than the greatest show on the field - but also their off-field antics (entrance music; celebrations; color-coordinated fans, etc.). If you thought 2006 was impressive; you ain’t seen nothing yet!
2.-12 (Like The Rock said best) IT DOESNT MATTER
I really don’t know the rest of the teams that well to judge - but honestly, it really doesnt matter. Regardless of whether its the 2nd ranked team or the 12th rank team, there aint nobody that can beat the Softballers.
Continuing from last season we are currently on a quite impressive 13-game win streak, including wins over the Outlaws and the New Lions in a pair of doubleheaders during weeks 1 & 2.
In conclusion, the SASL remains a tight race for 2nd place, while the Softballers will continue to dominate en route to their 2nd straight SASL Championship i’A.
*Raheel recently left the Hitmen and re-signed to the Softballers

its good to be back in orange… we all know what 2-12 have in common…
THEY DONT WANT IT!
forget the power rankings… what I really want to know is how you guys get your big heads to fit through your jerseys week in and week out?
No *that* deserves a trophy…
Awe… we have some haters… COOL!
- They don’t want it
All you have to do is unbutton your shirt before you put it on.
I know many teams want to copy the way we play, but this is getting out of hand.
