Daily Show Story on a Group of Muslims Wanting To Build an Islamic Center in Texas
Published by Haseeb March 1st, 2007 in Current News, Daily Show, Entertainmentohh man… A group of bigots from Texas dont like the fact that some Muslims want to establish an Islamic center in their community. So what do they do? Have large-scale pig-races… on Fridays!

InshaAllah that Islamic center will be built.
yo, now that I’m a houstonian and all, u know i had to comment on this. one of my friends had actually told me about this last semester, around november. no doubt that news brief was funny, but it’s actually a serious issue here in houston(katy’s a small town on the outskirts of houston-only like 30 min out).
I can’t believe they got Ridwan Saleh on the show!he’s a pretty cool guy
As salaam alaikum.
Funny stuff but a real issue everywhere. The Muslim population needs a better foundation in place to take care of the growing Muslim population. Our Friday prayers are crazy here in Ottawa, Canada
By the way!!!
Don’t forget jumah prayer today.
If your too busy to get to masjid, you can come by and read my 2 pence worth.
Wa salaama,
nuh ibn
yo my man Amir Uddin from Texas - what’s really good son?!?!?!
i say you and your boys from houston take a trip down to Katy and let these bigots know the real deal from the Bronx son!!
Sooooooooooooo hilarious!!!! Doesn’t this mimic the premise of “The LIttle Mosque on the Prarie”…who the main character , played by Carlo Rota ( Sp?) Is also in 24?
What a bunch of idiots.
Also, it’s pretty Abu Lahab-y. Trying to surround a masjid with pig lands? It’s not really going to harm Muslims per se (Muslims are not scared of pigs like most non-Muslims assume), but the bad intention and malice is clear.
Sometimes I forget how ignorantly midwestern american people think
I love that song they were singing at the end.
