Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf - Zam Zam Academy
Published by Haseeb January 29th, 2007 in Islam
I just today noticed that Mufti Abdur Rahman’s Zam Zam Academy website has a free audio archive of several courses in addition to various lectures and khutbahs. Now I have alot of material to listen to while commuting instead of umm… letting hypocrisy grow in my heart. (If you dont get that reference, buy Mufti saab’s book and read about it there!
The only thing unfortunate about Mufi Abdur Rahman’s talks is that they are all in Real Media format - which isnt compatible with most mp3 players or CD burners. But fear not - download Switch , a free program that easily allows you to convert files to mp3 or wav format.
Another great free (and legal) online audio archive for practical Islamic lectures is of course Shaykh Hussain’s Sacred Learning website, which features various short talks, a couple of courses, and the beginning of a long-term detailed tafsir of the Quran. (All are in mp3 format).
As far as this past weekend’s event goes, Mashallah, his Hadith intensive was amazing. His practical exegesis on about two dozen hadith in addition to his Q&A sessions were very insightful and I sincerely believe the wisdom in his words truly reached everyone’s hearts in that room. Although ive attended and read several Q&A live sessions and websites, the way he answered the wide-ranging questions reminded me of Shaykh Abdullah Bin Bayyah.
May Allah
(swt) bless and reward Mufti Abdur Rahman for all his efforts, as well as all those involved in organizing/hosting this past weekend’s event.

Probably one of the best lecture series on his site is his study of Aqidah Tahawiyyah. It is an excellent study of a Maturidi sharh of the matn. However, Mufti (Hafidhullah) also explains the Ash’ari view.
Also, Fiqh of Prayer goes over Ta’leemul Haq and, although I have not started it yet, I think goes over issues you might have praying with followers of the Shafi’ madhhab.
Thanks for posting this,
wasalaam
it will definitely make my commute much more productive as well.
I approve of this post.
You should check out his cd series on the Saviours of The Islamic Spirit, which can be purchased at Al Rashad Very inspiring and eduactional material there Mash’Allah
.
Also, if you’re more of a reading person, you can buy the original book that the lectures were based on, Saviours of Islamic Spirit by Shaykh Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi. It’s a 3 volume set, translated into English from Urdu, available here: http://www.albalagh.net/bookstore/?action=view&item=0261 .
I also found out that Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar, another great speaker, also started a series on Zad al-Talibin: http://sacredlearning.org/classrooms/hadith/zad_talibin/index.htm … we can learn from him until the next event when we continue with Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf, insha` Allah
.
Jazakallah khair, i noticed this as well.
Mashallah we here in the US are very blessed to have scholars like Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf and Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar. May Allah
(swt) increase them in knowledge, bless them and their families, and allow them to continue their great work!
