Nature: ISLAM AND SCIENCE

Nature Journal (The same journal that published Watson & Crick’s discovery that the DNA molecule was a double helix more than 50 years ago) has recently published a quite comprehensive special on Islam in Science in their latest issue.
You can check out the entire special section here.
Although I haven’t yet had the time to read through it myself, according to a friend who I not only trust, but share a similar mindset and view of science and Islam with:
This group of articles is very interesting, although it is rife with the usual Western assumptions and terminology in understanding the Muslims world, it offers a lot to think about.
Unfortunately it also mentions how a Muslim in Turkey is trying to buddy up with the “Intelligent Design” people in the US (who are Christians who REALLY dont like Islam) - it makes me cringe. The dialogue on creationism vs. evolution is quite simplistic and silly in this country, in my opinion, and I shudder to think that Muslims would just blindly jump on board with it.
