Countdown with Keith OlbermannKeith Olbermann, on his MSNBC News Program “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” has been recently ending his shows with “Special Comments”. These comments are quite riveting; he is ’straight up’ in exposing the outrageous actions of our current administration (or other politicians in power or seeking power).

Here are a few of these “Special Comments”. I know we are all busy with our own lives and are working hard to progress academically, in our careers, religiously, etc.; but for those of you who do live in America you all aught to at least be aware of what is going in in the world around you by our leaders. I believe it is irresponsible to go on living your own lives oblivious to the world around you, especially if you seek to reap the benefits of living in this country!

Mashallah Keith Olbermann has summed up several important (yet profoundly distressing) issues in his special comments. Again, the following are just a few of them I highly encourage you all not only to watch/read, but to think about!

Oct. 23: Advertising Terror [YouTube Video]
On on the terrorism visited upon the American people not by al Qaeda, but by George W. Bush and the Republican party

…The key to terror, the key to terrorism, is not the act—but the fear of the act.
That is why bin Laden and his deputies and his imitators are forever putting together videotaped statements and releasing virtual infomercials with dire threats and heart-stopping warnings.
But why is the Republican Party imitating them?
Bin Laden puts out what amounts to a commercial of fear; The Republicans put out what is unmistakable as a commercial of fear.
The Republicans are paying to have the messages of bin Laden and the others broadcast into your home.
Only the Republicans have a bigger bank roll. …

Oct. 18: Beginning of the end of America
[YouTube Video]
About the recent ‘Military Commissions Act‘ which eliminates not only Habeas Corpus, but throws the Geneva Convention out the window, and gives President Bush full control about what is torture and when it can be used.

…We have a long and painful history of ignoring the prophecy attributed to Benjamin Franklin that “those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
But even within this history we have not before codified the poisoning of habeas corpus, that wellspring of protection from which all essential liberties flow.
You, sir, have now befouled that spring.
You, sir, have now given us chaos and called it order.
You, sir, have now imposed subjugation and called it freedom.
For the most vital, the most urgent, the most inescapable of reasons.
And — again, Mr. Bush — all of them, wrong…

Sep. 25: A textbook definition of cowardice [YouTube Video]
On Bill Clinton’s interview with Fox News, and calls for an end to President Bush’s “free pass.”

…It is not important that the current President’s portable public chorus has described his predecessor’s tone as “crazed.”
Our tone should be crazed. The nation’s freedoms are under assault by an administration whose policies can do us as much damage as al Qaida; the nation’s marketplace of ideas is being poisoned by a propaganda company so blatant that Tokyo Rose would’ve quit….

Sep. 11: This Hole in the Ground [YouTube Video]
About 9/11 five years after the terrorist attacks.

How dare you, Mr. President, after taking cynical advantage of the unanimity and love, and transmuting it into fraudulent war and needless death, after monstrously transforming it into fear and suspicion and turning that fear into the campaign slogan of three elections? How dare you — or those around you — ever “spin” 9/11?

Sep. 5: Have you no sense of decency, sir? [YouTube Video]
Olbermann saying Bush will regret following in the footsteps of Donald Rumsfeld in comparing war critics to Nazis.

May Allah (SWT) protect and reward all those who speak the truth and call for justice!

Keith Olbermann kicks butt! Everyones butt! Especially Bill O’Reilly. I’ve seen all his special messages and he has brought out the best of what this president and party has to offer. Indeed hes one person the terrorists (Define: Terrorist - the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion [Merriam-Webster] i.e. Bush) don’t like.

is Countdown with Keith Olbermann a news program, and is Olbermann supposed to be a news anchor? because frankly, if he is, he is no better than Bill O’Reilly. well, except that he probably makes more sense and doesn’t tell people to shut up as much.

but i have a serious problem with news anchors doubling up as opinionated commentators. it confuses their role, which is supposed to be unbiased presenter of facts. not that news is really unbiased. but has it thrown out the pretense altogether?

that is the problem with FOX, and if Olbermann is supposed to be a news anchor, then with MSNBC as well.

if anyone has ever seen v for vendetta or has read the book 1984 by george orwell, the one can see where keith olbermann is coming from.. he is speaking the truth, regardless of what his job is… and that is a far cry from what bill oreilly and his fellows have done… its refreshing to see that there are people out here who are rightfully tired of the propaganda and the lies and the extremist attitudes of “our” modern society… may all of the spirits and powers that be bless keiths efforts…( i love that man!!!)

Don’t hang your hopes on any tv commentator. Olbermann is better than the rest, but they all have an ax too grind and should not be FULLY trusted. One must remember what they (ALL) are most interested…in a word, EYEBALLS, even the (apparantly) the sainted Mr. Olbermann.
