Mets going onto NLCS; Yankees going HOME! :-D
Published by Haseeb October 8th, 2006 in SportsAlhamdulillah. What a day of baseball!
I am ecstatic! I can’t put to words how excited I am with the outcomes of todays MLB Playoffs action! The “best offensive lineup ever in the history of baseball”, that is the New York Yankees lost three straight games to the Tigers to lose in the first round of the ALCS. NOBODY couldve predicted this, not even me (a proud yankee-hater) thought the yankees could collapse the way they did in this series. Aside from Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada, NOBODY on the Yankees played with any cahones.
The 70 million combo of A-Rod, Giambi, and Sheffield had a combined 3 hits this postseason. A-Rod must be psychologically scarred for life, going 1-14 and being dropped to the 8th spot in today’s game. Its amazing how this man’s career has plummeted.
“You kind of get tired of giving the other team credit,” Rodriguez said in a somber Yankees clubhouse. “At some point, you just have to look in the mirror and say, ‘I sucked.’” (Source: ESPN.com)
For all you fake Yankee fans who arent real baseball fans and jump on the Yankee bandwagon every October. HAHA. LOSERS! You and your $200 million payroll have come up short yet again in the Playoffs. I could not be any happier for this moment.
Money buys talent - but it cannot buy HEART.
And which team has heart? THE NEW YORK METS! Even though they have the best record in the NL, all the critics wrote us off because of our pitching injuries. But look at our swagger, the way the players approach each at bat. The confidence and heart that our hitters show - its unparalleled. Paul Lo Duca, and David Wright in particular have stepped up and are playing with tremendous passion these playoffs. I am so proud of my team sweeping the Dodgers and overcoming all their adversities in this first round of the playoffs.
Just watching the two New York teams play in the first round, you can really tell the difference between the two clubs. The Yankees (with exception to Jeter and Posada) just seem like a bunch of rich players going to work - with each at bat being their ‘assignment’. No heart, no cahones - no sense of ‘team’. Whereas the Mets put it all on the line, with every defensive play, with every at bat, with every move they make on the basepads. Upon scoring runs, the team celebrates together, proud of each other, with their own unique handshakes. When one player is struggling, the rest of the teams picks up his slack. Every game, the Mets have another player step up and shine to lead the way. In Game 1 it was Carlos Delgado going 4-5; Game 2 it was Tom Glavine’s spectacular perfomance pitching 6 shutout innings, and tonight it was my favorite Yahud, Shawn Green going 3-5. My Mets are a diverse team with players from all over the world, all different ages, putting their ego aside and playing as a team - and not only playing well, but enjoying it! This is why the Mets truly have stepped up to prove to the world why we are the best team in not only New York, but in all of baseball!
Inshallah I know it wont be easy with our pitching lineup of Maine, Glavine, and Traschel (and Oliver?), but as a true Mets fan, I will always believe, and have faith in our talent. I hope Cliff Floyd is fine and will be able to continue playing in these playoffs. Inshallah this truly will our time. NLCS here we come!
8 more wins inshAllah

Muck the Fets.
Sorry, I’m a hot-blooded Latin. Muta Paricons! Muck those mucking Fets!
Damn Arif, talk about being a SORE LOSER.
Amazing stuff! nice link to the espn page 2. Nothing beats that sweet Red Sox comeback…
Damn Haseeb… your such a hater.
Money buys the Mets but can’t buy Pedro’s shoulder.
Listen to WFAN. They’re only talking about the Yankees. They’re the story. No one cares about the Mets. The universe revolves around the Yankees. The Mets, in contrast, are just a piece of alien tutti floating in space.
Thanks so much! I just happened to come across this page while searching for islam related websites. And you mets fans, you really…really love us don’t you? I haven’t ever seen that many references and accolades given to one particular 23 year old baseball players manly organ (see cahones) on one page…only in queens!! And to be easy on the yankees, if you were a baseball fan in the mid 90’s, you would know that the Atlanta braves were the big bad guys and the yankees were the hungry guys coming up and pulling off improbable wins, everyone cheering for them. They became the bad guys because they won so much and people didn’t like that any more. The same thing might happen to our mets (go mets! i believe!) but fortunately, we won’t actually win and our fans will continue to hunger and applaud us.
Good luck with the Mets, gotta admit they are getting pretty good. Obviously I can’t say the same about the Yankees. :s
RADF, what do you know about baseball? You’re a woman.
okay, everyone knows White Sox rules, not the Mets, not the Yankees, yikes not even the Cubs (okay I am talking the late 90s, here).
All that aside, I know this is not the right place to post this sorta thing but I am actually “suitor” hunting for a friend of mine. She is a post-Stony Brook grad, religious, nicest person in the world with excellent akhlaq and character(we all know alot of the stony brook girls needed lessons in akhlaq in general but this girl besides being religious had EXCELLENT akhlaq, no one can get better than her akhlaq, she has this part of her nature already). Anyways, if you know serious, committed, SINCERE, righteous, humble, have a sense of humor eligible bachelors(I know I am throwing out a lot of words here, okay, educated also or give education a priority). someone who is a moderate, in the middle, does faraaidh, sunnah, etc. Please reply back here and if it is okay with Br. Haseeb, email him and he’ll forward the emails to me.
If not okay with Br. Haseeb, then please delete it. I know this is not a matrimonial website and all but those websites are little tiresome. Maybe, this might be a filter for the right person out there.
It is Ramadhaan, the season for joy, the season for the night of destiny, who knows my friend might find the one, in shaa Allaah.
