Shaykh Kamaluddin @ NYU This Friday

Forwarded to me by Brother Rayad Khan:

Insha’Allah (SWT) Shaykh Kamaluddin will lead the Jummah prayer at NYU this Friday, September 1st 2006. He has kindly agreed to remain with us from Jummah salat till the Maghrib salat to answer any questions and address various concerns that our university attending youth face nowadays.

Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed was born and raised in Manhattan, NY and went on to obtain a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a Masters from Columbia University. or over a decade he has consistently remained in the close company of his teacher, Hadrat Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad, learning the science of purification of the heart and disciplining the soul, and was formally authorized in the science of Islamic spirituality by the Shaykh in 2002. Additionally, he has studied sacred knowledge from traditional scholars in Pakistan for the past several years and possesses formal authorizations in a number of Islamic sciences including authorizations in the narration of hadith and in the transmission of legal opinion.

Shaykh Kamal currently divides his time between the United States and Pakistan, remaining in close contact with his teachers and traveling in an effort to impart the knowledge he continues to learn from them. Shaykh Kamal is also a visiting professor at LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences), one of the most educational institution in Asia, where he teaches Islamic Studies and Political Science.

Mufti Kamaluddin’s invaluable advice and insight on how to gain traditional knowledge and getting closer to Allah (SWT), Glorious and Most High, while at the same time attending a Western private university will greatly benefit the NYU community.
