Islamic Relief Concert w/ Sami Yusuf, Native Deen, & Others

(Feel free to contact me for the password if you know me personally). It truly was an amazing event on so many levels.
First and foremost, it was a fundraiser, primarily for tens of thousands of orphans that Islamic Relief provides aid and assistance for every day, as well as for those who have been affected by war and tribulation in Lebanon and Palestine. Alhamdulillah, over $ 190,000 was raised that evening for these causes. It was an honor volunteering for this organization alongside so many great brothers and sisters this past Saturday. May Allah 
mercifully reward the organizers, volunteers, as well as donors for their efforts.
As far as the concert itself goes, it was great. This was my second time seening Sami Yusuf perform live, and it was great. Accompanied by the drummer from Native Deen, as well as an Iraqi percussionist and his usual background singers, they put on a great performance. I actually had the opportunity to chill backstage with Tamzid and Haroon during Sami’s performance. In fact, I even got to shake Sami Yusuf’s hand and got him coffee from Dunkin Donuts! Haroon Naderi is an American who was born in Pakistan, who happens to be Afghani and specifically Uzbek by ethnicity.
