Assalamualkum
I really like your site.I just wanted to share something i learned with the brothers. In todays world we see so many things going around that on the outward look like the dimise of Islam. We must never forget that Allah
(swt) has sworn that he is the protector of this deen the one thing we have to do is to Stand Strong. Now adays people dont know what strong is let me explain it to you its not ranting and raving or calling people names. The truth of the matter is that REAL MUSLIM MEN and WOMEN should take head and learn from the life of the greatest person Muhammad (sws) and follow his sunnah. Islam my brothers and sisters is not lip service you can say you love islam all you want but if it is not in your actions its not a true love. There can only be love if you follow the beloved. There is a story of a Sahabba walking and he ducked his head for no aparnt reason while passing a certain block. His companion asked him why are you ducking he said he saw the beloved of Allah
ducking here when there used to be a branch, So just to follow in his beloved footsteps i as well duck. This is true love NOT as we say we love then every morning we go and trim our beards ( i dont mean any harm) but it is written in every book that the Prophets beard was thick and long. True love my brothers is in the sunnah. The demise of this Ummah is becasue we have abandend the Sunnah. How many of us use the Miswak, soo many bleassings yet we dont really care for it. the worlds disasters in Palestine, Pakistan, Indonesia and wherever else are because of our lack of following the most perfect example. This is a wake up call for the Ummah wake up !!
salam,
your concerns are very true and valid brother, but we need to remember that the process of ‘Islah’ or reformation of coming back to the Deen is a gradual process and it will take time and we have to be patient, the question is what are we doing as individuals, we all need to play our part and work as a group of people for the common good of the community for the religion to be revived and re-established. thus Islamic Forum Europe, Young Muslim Organisation UK along with Muslimaat UK are trying to respond to the challenges and concerns with ‘A Call To Humanity’ at a venue that has not witnessed muslim presence before and many amongst us never thought it would be possible to stage a Muslim event of this nature in an arena such as this but Allah
plans and He is the best of planners.
we live in a climat where less than 5% of the mulsim population prays his, her obligatory prayers, thus which is more important the lack of outward sunnah such as the beard or the fard such as Salah, thus we must get our priorities right and not concern ourselves with the nitty gritty issues but the broader aspect of the religion the Fard etc. this will then naturally manifest into the outward sunnah of the beard and manners etc. but if we do the opposite process and start with the outward Islam then the real true islam which is in the Heart is not established and this will cause a burn out leading to a ’super muslim state’ and they will find it difficult to maintain this. Sorry akhi this is a lengthy issue and cannot be done justice over an email conversation
Please publicise the event amongst your friends and family and make dua as this is the best weapon of the believer.
i pray that you do not take offence from my reply as i have not intended to attack you or undermine your opinion in anyway. please find some room in your heart to forgive me if you have.
shukran

Allhamdullilah i agree with you 100% you are correct less then 5% of the muslim population prays very true, the only thing that i dont agree with that is that numbers make a diffrence Allah
(Swt) holds all power alone and numbers dont mean much if you look througout history of our beloved (sws) there was always a upper hand by the non muslims. My point was the states of human beings on the inside reflects on there outside. Yes you can arguee that it takes time i dont disagree. My point was trying to emphasize the fact that we can ONLY get success by following the most perfect man the prophet of islam who was sent as the EXAMPLE. there is no partial credit here its all or none. The prophet said something to the affect that until you love me more then your selves you arent a mumin. So its something to think about. We must also remeber that Islam came through Sacrfice the reason why we are muslim today is because of other peoples sacrifice. The main argument i have with many of these events is the amount of free mixing, where in Islam are women allowed to speak in front of NON mahram men ??. The only reason a women can speak is if it is neccesity and even then to make her voice stern. To hold events in the name of Al-Islam and then not following the basic fundamentals is not right. I dont wanna offend anyone but the truth is out there.
Your brother : Islam
Now ^ THAT ^ is my idea of constructive discussion-ing…
We havent been getting a lot of those in the “Azhar Usman vs. Yvonne Ridley’ comments archive.
Ha, I noticed threads that have to do with Music, Nasheeds, and Movies have more responses than threads in which there are Islamic articles or audio posted. Just something interesting I noticed….
many jzks for your comments akhi i agree with your concerns fully but we should always remember that some things such as Salah, Sawm etc are fixed in Islam and should not be changed no matter what the contextual difference is, however, with issues such as socialising and free mixing and women talking in front of men the scholars are divided and both points of view are true and valid. We must not try and take things out of context either, if the Prophet (PBUH) did something we must look deeper and see what was the situation behind it, what was the context, thus the text must go with the context rather than text without context. Fro example, the issue of Alcohol is not clear cut until you follow it through the context, first it is not advisable, then it is later prohibited. Same with the issue of ‘Kill the Kufars where ever you find them’ this is often taken literally and out of context, we must see what was the siuation that arised at the time of that revelation or action by the Prophet (PBUH).
In essence my point is that the issues you have mentioned are not all clear cut and in order for us to go back to our roots as you mentioned and wake up the Ummah we must hold conferences and conventions to invite them to their true call. you mention basic fundamentals, the convention is done with strick control of all the entertainment with no strings or mainstream intsruments but only percussion based, the audience is not free to sit anywhere but under family, male and female sections thus adhering to the principals of our faith.
kabir
also the number issue is also important because it gives you an idea of the condioton of our Ummah, thus we must address the root cause of the problem, and by first practicing the religion in our heart then it will automatically reflect it on the outside. It is what is in our heart that Allah
looks for not how long our beard is our how much outward sunnah we do although that is all part of the faith and a significant part of the Mulsim individual. Allah
places a significant emphasis on the Qalb, heart and by purifying the heart the rest of the body will follow InshaAllah.
PLus if the beard is such as issue then our dear friends or neighbours, the sikhs are more pious than us in our faith!

I wanna see what Abu Ilyas as to say about this since he loves preaching.
This event should be interesting. Yvonne Ridley and Azhar Usman will be at the event as well as some nasheed artists.
