(Props to Faraz for the pic)
Wow, subhanallah. Where has all the time gone…
I have soo much love for soo many of the people in this picture. Who knows when I’ll get a chance to see so many of these people again.
Anyways, alhamdulillah it was a beautiful wedding, and inshallah i ask that we fulfill the request of the two couples’ and their families by making dua for them. The two brothers getting married are two bros who i deeply love and admire and I sincerely hope we all continue to pray for their happiness and success, and inshallah even amidst our busy lives remain in each other’s company and duas.

STONY BROOK STAND UP
STONY BROOK CLASS OF ‘04, ‘05 SIT DOWN (everyone but me and salman)

Br. Salman looks like a cross between Shaykh Habib Ali al-Jifri and Shaykh Faraz.
not one brother in that picture has a beard, only 1….2 bro’s . what up wid dat. They should all be keepin beard.

wow looks like fun, the whole spirit squad was there
Haroon beat me to the punch
Im mad that i missed the fun
Br. Nam,
Are you trying to say ur a better muslim than these guys cuz u have a beard?! cuz if you are, then that’s just stupid.
… and to be honest, quite a few brothers in the picture have beards. perhaps you’re referring to fist-length ’sunnah’ inspired beards?
I dont like that condescending tone bilal… how long is your beard anyway, cause mine is 10 inches
haha ten inch beard huh? i don’t think i can compete…
i hope ur not trying compensate for something
shu3ayb and majeed weren’t in the pics, damn that would have made it 13 beards!
assalaamualaikum Br. Haseeb,

COUNT AGAIN
BRO BILAL:
no i aint saying that im a better muslims, all im saying is that its a shame that most of the bro’s in that pic have not got beards. im guessing u are one of them. Why is it so hard to follow a simple sunnah of the prophet, i know its a wedding and u wanna look ur best, but that aint no excuse 2 shave the beard.
Not that I should care, but I did count more than 2 beards. And I don’t think it’s good to imply that people shaved their beards to look nice for a wedding. And you said you were growing yours, so maybe they are growing theirs? What happened to 70 excuses (Sunnah of the Prophet **, no?). Besides that, talking about how long your beard is doesn’t equate to one’s level of Iman or how close one is with Allah
. And how do we disgrace such an innocent post with winky comments about things we shouldn’t talk about (you must surely know what I’m talking about since I refuse to quote and explain). And HOW was this related to Haseeb’s well wishing of the married couples mashAllah? Sorry, I take offense to this since I was at the wedding as well and really do pray for the best for these people and when I see a post like this, I must question why we can’t just say a quick prayer for these people and leave the rest alone (maybe we shouldn’t be quick to judge others on their appearance– and it seems like it was a nonchalant comment at first that ended up being more serious).
And following a simple sunnah of the Prophet (**sallaho alayhi wasalam)? Yes, men should grow their beards, nothing wrong with that at all. But to use that kind of tone is pretty condescending. Most of us don’t follow the Prophet’s (**) example or his “simple Sunnahs.”
I think these comment pages are starting to annoy me because on everyone’s blog we get off the person’s original reason for posting.
inshAllah, the newlyweds will be showered upon with Allah
’s blessings and their relationship will draw them closer to Allah
and make them amongst those whom He favors. Ameen.
< - EDITED ->
cmon bro, was that comment really necessary?!?!?
really, you people are sick and vulgar. kepp your impure thoughts to yourselves. you’re not making these comments to your close friends, these are out in the open and you should have some type of adab.
lol, this is pretty funny but yeah I hope the couples have a happy and religiously meaningful life.
And about that beard there are difference of opinions among the madhhabs about the lenght of the beard. Just compare Imam Zaid Shakir’s beard length to Sh Sattar’s beard length to see the range of opinions available. So Chill !!!
lol Haseeb, I’m glad you edited that comment. Some people are just really sick and need to watch their tongues.
You see though, don’t you? Your post is about dua and making dua for them, and the discussion is beards. Really sad. No wonder this ummah isn’t united, we’re quick to make judgements and become arrogant without realizing it.
The reason for the decline of the ummah is obviously the lack of facial hair. It has nothing to do with spirituality, intellectual productivity, Islamic proficiency, political cooperation, and social welfare. It is all about the hair (for men, having a lot of it and for women, covering it). Next time you put a shadi photo, I want to see so much hair that you can’t even see the people’s faces.
haseeb, who is this clown?
Brother is dropping SCIENCE
aw man, i missed it, looked like it was nice tho…niice!
nam, you gunna have mad problems gettin married with that type of attitude

Assalamu alakum,
Why u al upset over something i said? I mean, I did not mean to be offensive by deriding your relationship with God based on a judgment of how much facial hair you have.
i have a beard nam and its bigger then yours
na’am yes u do. Mashallah thas good. BUt what kinda beard anyone with hair on there face can say they have a beard, u probably got a goatee or something.
