This is wrong in sooo many ways
My God! I feel so…embarrassed to be white American? Nice spilling the rice too.
“Oh prayer time…look at your hands.”
Sallam to all who read comments,
I have never posted a comment before, but circumstance has forced me. This was not da’wah, this is horrible.
sallam
Very poor choice of videos to post. May Allah
take those who make a mockory of his deen Ameen..
I didnt post the video to support that stupid show. I just thought parts of it were funny - thats all.
I thought it was funny. The show is not making a mockery of Islam. It’s actually mocking the two girls, and they’re in on it. They’re acting (e.g. spending $400 instead of 40, cutting the basmati rice bag from the middle, praying despite their well-known raunchiness). Lighten up people.
it was really funny. there are other clips on the E! website.
but the fact that it is SO stagged really takes away from the fun.
and you can tell how stagged it is.
I saw the show and was intiially thinkign “Wow, what a great dawah opportunity.” These people can really show them how Muslims are. And I saw the show and was laughing but I was sad because a good dawah moment was totally wasted. And I was annoyed by the son just because I felt he was put in weird situations.. pepperoni pizza, truth or dare? I mean, I know it’s scripted somewhat, but come on! And the guys shaking hands with the girls.. that was sad.. I was like I go into Desi Bazaar and the guy doesn’t shake my hand.. and if he tried to? I would be livid. lol.
If you want to see ACTUAL dawah and not a staged comedy, go watch the episode of 30 Days, where a white Christian has to live in a muslim home for 30 days. He changes his mind about Muslims being all evil. You might be able to find it if you dig around online (episode 103) or get it off iTunes (direct link)
The word da’wah does not mix well with the names Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The show is silly and those involved with it edit it so that it is really silly, if not mind numbing. Plus the two protagonists are pretty hedonistic. Why even bring up the issue of da’wah? Just take it for what it is — an episode from a show about two skanky girls that involved Muslims and portrayed them as relatively normal people. If you wanted a PowerPoint presentation on the five pillars and the Hadith of Jibriel, then I think you’re a bit delusional.
“that involved Muslims and portrayed them as relatively normal people.”
yeaa Polemicist!!
In this day and time just that is an improvement.
First of all i agree with that person titled “Brother” 100%. We all know how stupid and ditsy Nicole and Paris are so why even display this crap on television or on this blog. Its NOT funny. I dont think it was wise on Haseeb’s part to even post it. But Masha Allah
that just goes to show where the Muslims level of faith is.
hahahaa
“salam, salam! Salami!”
“oh it’s time to pray”
nicole is IN FRONT of the 2 men.
“you forgot to look at your hands”
hahahahahhhaha
Hafsa, humor is clearly subjective. What you find funny and what I find funny can differ and obviously do. It is unfortunate that you have decided to take this issue of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as a barometer for OUR faith in God. Your statement is a serious one and very personal. You provide no reason for how one’s reaction to the video is significant in any sense, let alone a decisive indicator of our level of faith. Perhaps a better indicator of a Muslim’s faith is his or her indifference to Muslims butchering one another in Iraq or a Muslim who kills innocent civilians? I think the life of a human being is more important than a silly program featuring two pampered, bronzed, emaciated, and STD-infected brats. I’m not against judging others, but I do think many Muslims do not have their priorities straight. We’re too ready to cry victim and reluctant to confront serious moral challenges, especially when they come from Muslims. Sadly, we’re just a bunch of whiners.
to Polemicist
“It is unfortunate that you have decided to take this issue of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as a barometer for OUR faith in God.”
sorry thats not what i meant to do. i was just supporting what you were saying before (about the show just being stupid and nothing of value) I didnt mean it to come out like it did.
I personally saw it as a shocker that a Muslim would want Paris and Nicole in their house… esp leaving them with their 15 year old son :-S.
Shouldn’t it be “Shalwar kameez”?
Oh sorry Hafsa, I meant Haleema!
Excuse me Polemicist but what are you doing exactly to help the people in Iraq? Huh? First of all before you start lecturing me, Just because Im not in Iraq doesnt mean I dont give charity. And personally I dont see how that has anything to do with making a mockery of Islam. Which was what my statement was about. And yes we can laugh and joke but when it comes to Islam there shouldnt be any redicule. AND YES anytime you think thats funny question your faith. Allah
can take you anytime and youre here laughing at stupidity that involves Islam at that!!!!!. I speak to myself firstly. I hope that I am not being too firm but when it comes to Islam I seriously take offense. Thank you very much.
Haleema, this is how dialogue breaks down. Two people come to a discussion and one or both simply want to have the other adopt their ideas. One or both ignore the meaning of the statements of the other and intentionally or unintentionally twist them to validate one’s pre-existing arguments. And perhaps dialogue doesn’t break down; perhaps it doesn’t even exist.
I never said anything about your giving charity or helping Iraq. I said a better indication of a Muslim’s faith is their reaction to actual human suffering, rather than Paris Hilton’s antics. After discussing your comments, I then moved on to a criticism of a general Muslim outlook on the world. I think Muslims are too ready to complain about petty things or the wrongs of non-Muslims, but fail to care about the bigger issues, especially when Muslims are the wrongdoers. I didn’t necessarily say that you are part of this group, but I do find your statements syptomatic of their thinking.
You must be very political thats probably why youre not making any sense. So how about we just drop the subject because I dont know where youre going with this.
this video was pathetic!!!
the bitches made fun of our “salat”
the video shouldnt have been posted!!!
Salaam ‘Alaikum
I watched about 45 seconds of this video (I scanned through it) which was more than enough.
//Plus the two protagonists are pretty hedonistic. Why even bring up the issue of da’wah? //
Yeah, da’wah’s only for those who already live pure, perfect lives. La howlillah.
It’s all acting so its not really the end of the world…then again…”look at your hands??!! :s
oh DEAR GODD!!! thanks so much for putting this up. this is CRAZY!
chill out guys. there are so many other things Muslims should be worrying about than two idiots.
woah..ok, let me say that first of all, I don’t even watcj TV(personal choice, need to read more)..and so I’m not too familiar with Paris Hilton outside of magazine tabloids in teh super market check out aisle…I’m disgusted to say the least..not with Paris, because this is what is expected of her..its like being shocked when garabage stinks…duh….

Well, actually, I thought this was a good thing- it showed the world that Muslims are ‘hot’ people. Psh. It was really, really funny.
I could not understand how degrading Islam would be amusing for any muslim to watch.
Authu Billahi Minash Shaytan ir Rajim
