Haroon linked me to this last night…

As a practicing Muslim, Sheeraz is determined to create a positive image of Muslims in America. He sees it as his mission to build bridges between cultures…

hmm… i’m a little skeptical about all this. Nonetheless, this is quite impressive … but why have i never heard of this guy?

have to give it to him for focus. I can understand the skepticism, but I think someone like him would is a good role model for those young Asians to show hard work gets you somewhere.
Personally I really liked the fact he talked about spirituality in actors rather than the usual goss, and his aiding to the Asian sub continent.

Also, credit to Amreeka, for allowing the opportunity for people like him to launch.

TINSELTOWN DINER! thats next to my uni.
Oooh…so thats why there are pictures of this asian dude with those hollywood people plastered on the walls, and thats why there are like 5-6 big TV screens blasting MTV crap..

apart from that, their food is amazing especially their milkshakes and the mum’s nice-you get free icecream after :)
as long people dont confuse Bollywood with Islam and muslims.

Bollywood is the worst enemy for South Asian Muslims. Bollywood is worse then hollywood.

i thought it was a joke or something initially. He seems to be doing good stuff but the environment he is around is questionable. Anyway, what have I done for Islam lately. Not much so can’t say nuttin. PEACE

    WOW
    im pretty much left speechless…
i feel so perturbed filled with so many opinions about this that im not quite sure where i stand
i can see this as islamically good in a way and yet very bad..but definatly if hes wanting to build a bridge b/w cultures i think its awesome wich i suppose wud b where to start
i like how hes bringing Islam into it in a way but i feel like i shud b worried tht he shud b careful to not associate Islam with the wrong stuff..as mentioned above ppl may get confused and the understanding of Islam to a majority is already very.. stereotypical i ges i cud say
but i can definately c that his intentions are good so thts for sure very good Insha’Allah (SWT) i hope it becomes benificient to the Muslim world
and i am very impressed with his efforts and his accomplishments so far masha’Allah (SWT) an it seems like he knows what he’s doing
    Salam

Its heartening to see him with his mother and dedicate his award to her. I dont want to go on a rant but theres more to cultures then Hollywood and Bollywood. All I see is a business venture which frankly speaking, is rather unislamic given the product churned out by the movie industry.
Bollywood in partcular, is garbage and Hollywood hasnt put out a decent film in years.
