The Auto Wudu Washers Auto Wudu Washers (AWW©) is the world’s first and only automatic pre-prayer personal washing system introduced to enable an individual to perform the Wudu ablution efficaciously in conformance to Quranic teachings. This is achieved by the use of a purpose built ear, mouth and facial washer unit, a forearm and elbow washing unit and a foot and ankle washing unit all of which are incorporated in a single system. The AWW © performs all these three Wudu functions hygienically, conveniently and efficiently without water spillage. The AWW© incorporates state of the art technology in fluid dynamics, valve control technology and ergonomics, creating an environment that gives the user an individualized clean washing and drying experience never known and available before.
This isnt a joke! I personally have mixed opinions about it. I think it might be good for big public areas like malls, arenas, airports - where people are busy and need to perform salat on the go. However, i would hate to see such machines in our masjids. The process of wudu in itself if performed with the proper intention is essentially a form of ibadat and sacred - and shouldnt be tampered with.
What do you guys think about the Auto Wudu Washer?

Please Wait

Do public areas in the ME and south asia have sinks or wudu areas? If its like America then yea this is much better and more convenient but I agree with you…would be questionable to have in masjid…
The newest innovation in capitalist materialism meets muslim slothfulness…more mindnumbing, actionless than anything you’ve ever seen…another side of the new spirituality?
While I wouldn’t mind using it on occasion, I wouldn’t want to have it in a typical masjid. Wudu, as you put it so succinctly, “if performed with the proper intention is essentially a form of ibadat and sacred - and shouldnt be tampered with.” I wholeheartedly agree, and don’t want things like conveyor belts around the Ka’aba (not that they exist there anyway), because they take away some of the sacredness.
Maybe in commuter masajid like the airport, but I don’t see it taking root in many other places.
Assalaamu alaikum
Don’t some mathabs have to rub their palm over the area they’re washing anyway? I think Malikis do. So the wudu would be invalid.
I really don’t like this idea, it doesn’t take That much longer to do wudhu without this machine and I’m really intrigued as to how it washes your ears.
wassalaamu alaikum
I’ll agree with Smokey…its getting too materialistic, jsut too awkeward. How’s about we fix the other problems in a mosque? Whats next…..Digital Prayer Rug
Assalaamualaikum,
Personally i have to disagree with such a device being used for ablution as there is supposed to be an intention and ofcourse a readiness of the mind when doing wudhu. However, for someone who is disabled and who can’t physically do wudhu independently, then this machine is excellent. I think it should be introduced as a wudhu machine for the less able rather than for everyone.
Fiamaanallah,
Raza
what! this is great! I hate doing that whole wudu thing over and over again, especially if its cold and messy in the room. it takes so long and those tiles and the rock walls are so unwelcoming to trips and falls. and you can see kids at the masjid rarely ever do wudu over again (i never did) after you pee bc it takes too long and sometimes its annoying. i personally like the idea.
“How’s about we fix the other problems in a mosque?”
clearly, if your mosque has only 3 walls, youll need to put a 4th one up before buying this machine. good luck.
as long as they spray some sort of an antibacterial sanitizer all over the “basins” and compartments between uses, I could probably think about it with some degree of seriousness. ear wax residues. eww.
eventually, they’ll incorporate this in our ID - Disease Transmission lectures: Nosocomial, Air-borne, Wudu Machines…lolz!
but god, that’s SWEET! what will they come up with next?
errr, its really unnecessary. Isn’t it good enough we have access to fresh water, taps, bathrooms everywhere.
I do think more wudu friendly basins in masjids could be put.
also, Muslims need to do wudu in a more less splashy way. I think people think its best to have taps full blast flowing. A well known scholar after each action in wudu would switch the tap off, so as not to waste it and then once finished would wipe everywhere.
Ok thats my preaching done. LOL
PS I agree about something about something more diasabled friendly.
Do the AWWs do Masa’h over the head for you, or do you do it yourself?
Wow, when I got the email I thought this was a joke.. Apparently not! I think it’s silly.
I mean, I guess it’s innovative, but the practical part is the foot bin. That’s easier than pulling your leg up over a sink or trying to put your feet in the wudu basin without getting the floor wet.
And I agree with everyone else about wudu being a form of ibada so we shouldn’t commericialize it to that extent. And in practice, I feel like these would get really dirty. Wudu Basins get dirty, this would be filthy after everyone used it.. And you still have to do your mouth and nose and HOW WOULD THEY wash the ears? (that was definitely an interesting question someone posed). I don’t know.. If public bathrooms had this, I feel like I’d try it out but then go back to the conventional way..
salafis: biddah
sufis: makruh, but a biddah hasana
shia: let’s make automatic beaters, so we dont have to beat ourselves.
modernists: it better be cheap
nation of islam: black ppl should get em for free

MR: it’s good at night…..if u kno what i mean ;-)…..quick wudu….get back to work
sorry made a writing mistake earlier by repeating ‘about something’
I think it’s really innovative and I have to give props to the individuals who designed this machine. I think the test will be if this machine combines efficiency (less water usage), usefulness, and affordability for a nobel cause. I don’t really see how this machine will prevent rubbing.
Since many of us muslims are not so keen on how to neatly use public (or private, for that matter) wash areas, I think for public places, it’s a great solution. I think I’d be cool if it had a built in dryer too for quickly drying the surrounding area.
Inshallah no more flooded countertops or floors, and no more leaky faucets!
And if it keeps the masjid bathrooms neat, Subhanallah!
Maybe putting mosaic artwork around it might make it more muslim customer friendly :-). It always takes time to get used to new things.
what’s next? the automatic prayer chair?
this is too much technology for my taste.
Salam,
OMG, LOL moi:D:D
I think it’s pathetic! yea, put it in Malls and let ppl see how we wash our faces “hey look no hands!! just like magic!!”
is this something someone saw on The Jetsons?? please, stop watching Cartoon Net Work!!?
And why is it so hard and annoying for ppl to take a few extra min to do something for Allah
?
But yea i agree the foot thing would be good for some ppl…
Absurd. But as some people have said, some people need to learn to make wudhu and not make it look like there was a hurricane in the bathroom. Nonetheless, absurd.
I think some men may end up using it as a urinal.
Also, I think it might become somewhat popular in the Gulf where they have a fetish for gotty, ostentatious displays of wealth and technology.
I also think Gulfies will end up using it as a urinal.
Hahaha.
HAHA very good IS IT REALLY REAL !? AND CAN U BUY IT !!!!
I want tasbih’s that say Allahuakbar and Subhanallah when you touch them. I also want prayer rugs that unfold when its time to pray and refold themselves when i’m done. While we’re at it I want the Quran and all the texts of history in audio/video format with the simplest english and i want to have a number to call where i can access the spiritual leader of my choosing 24/7/365. Why? Becuase I want to!
whoa that would be hot!
wow, how cool and biddah would that be?!
Salms…
Uh, what about hygiene here??? I don’t want to put my face where other people’s faces, noses, and mouths have been washed right before me (and for a few MONTHS on end!)…
khalil moore
I think its a cool idea but not in a maskid but perfect for airports.
Ear & Facial wash with the same water??? :dizzy:
For all those who call this bidah, imagine what “pious” Muslims such as yourselves said when the first tap water sink was invented “Astaghfirullahhhh, HARAM!!!!” This new innovation not only saves water and money, it is practical for our daily lives. For those of us who see water on the masjid floor as not only wasteful and hazardous, but also as a problem left unsolved. This is a great attempt for a solution, and I pray that Allah
bless the inventor for his intention to improve the daily lives of millions of Mulsims.
DROWN ‘EM IN THE WATER FROM THE WUDHU STATION!
- M-Team Lyrics -
It’s the best for the old people or disabled ones
I would to know who’s the inventor?
and how much the machine costs?
shoukran
amal
That’s stupid and it’s trying to make fun of Muslims!
Forgive me my brother n sisters, wat I see abt dis machine is that it’s trying to improve our lifestyle in doing our job as a muslim or muslimah. It’s the same as we are trying to improve or lessen our workload in every day life. Hey, we need to keep on improving as we are now in technology age where everything is made possible and simple but still does not compensate our spiritual way of life. Hope we can together broaden our mind n knowledge n make the full use of technology to improve our way of life, not only abt this machine, but other things that we can create.
Please remove the comments by “Mujahideen Ryder from: United States”. I don’t believe it comes from a Muslim. Joking about Muslims is not Muhammad and Quran’s way.
It certainly fades wudu spirit and instructions. It’s just changing the way of wudu and therefore, adding to / changing Quran’s instructions about wudu. Of course we can use technology in order to make life easier and simpler but this is NOT the usage of technology. If you are not agree with me then why don’t you record your 5 times prayers and schedule your computer to play and pray on your behalf every day. The benefits are that (1) it prays on time and (2) you don’t need to even make wudu and (3) it saves you time of prayer and you can do something else.
Absolutely disagree with this device. Was it made by Muslims anyways? What was the main reasons behind this “innovation”?
