Softballers 2-0, Mets 16-8
Published by Haseeb April 30th, 2006 in SportsHere’s a quick overview of my softball and baseball teams, respectively:
SOFTBALLERS (2-0)
After the first day of the season was washed away last week in a rain out, the South Asian Softball League finally began today. The Softballers first faced the Dynasty, a tough veteran team, and beat them 17-3. In game two of the weekly doubleheader, we faced the Lions, an expansion team, and whooped them 36-5. Atif Khan went an impressive 11-12, and Zeeshan added in two homeruns in today’s action.
This start to the season, while probably impressive to most (combined score of both games: 53-8), is just what I predicted. The league’s finest team will indeed continue to dominate throughout the season. Next we will continue our winning ways against two other expansion teams, the Hustlaz, and Damage Inc.
NEW YORK METS (16-8)
I would be lying if I said this was a great week of action for the Mets. After a splitting a 4 game series in San Francisco, and winning 2/3 in Atlanta, the Mets were a mediocre 4-3 this week. While a respectable record for most times, like the Yankees in particular, this is unacceptable for the Mets. However I shouldnt be so harsh, as Beltran, Wright, Floyd, and Bannister are far from 100% in terms of health. Wright disappointed me this past week, as he appeared to be in a slump, but I will give him more time to show his true colors. As for now, David Wright - you are ON NOTICE! Unfortunately, another young player, Bannister has been placed on the DL, and the Mets will have to find a new 5th starter. Nonetheless, amidst these problems, the Mets remain 16-8 - which is still a great record. Other positives: Pedro is now 5-0 this season, and Kaz Matsui has been playing great since starting the season off the DL in his first week of action both offensively AND defensively.

Sure…easy for you to say when you are sitting at home on your rump…not participating in the winning. JK, I know ur studying…masha’Allah
.
As for the METS, Atlanta is a good team so considering what they did accomplish its pretty decent. METS won’t win every game but so far so good. Looking forward to the coming weeks to see how it plays out.
P.S. Stop playing with your site and study!
Even though I wasnt there physically, I was there in spirit!
