Request for Duas
Published by Haseeb April 27th, 2006 in PersonalAs Muslims, we believe that Allah
tests his servants, who he loves. Allah
even questions us in the Quran
Nonetheless, the truth of the matter is that we all are given different levels of tests. Some of us have much easier tests in front of us as others do. Personally, no matter how much I complain about school, or financial burdens, or limited resources, or personal flaws, I honestly do realize that I have so much to be blessed for and that my personal situation is immeasurably better than the vast majority of people in this world. And I am sure than most of you reading this now realize that the same holds for you. The very fact that you have the luxury of access to a computer with internet access, and the luxury of the time available to come read this post on my site is a blessing. We should always be mindful at how blessed we are and express our gratitude for our blessed condition. It is very beneficial, and spiritually rejuvenating, for us to take time, daily if possible, to reflect on oneself by counting our blessings and self-analyzing our actions. This essentially is an example of muraqaba, commonly practiced by students of tasawwuf, and something I highly recommend you all to practice.
One of my dearest friends, whom I love dearly, is presently undergoing a very difficult tribulation. This affliction is one that I pray that no one else will ever have to experience, yet unfortunately is not uncommon. I humbly ask you all to please include him and his family in your duas. Please ask for The Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate, to alleviate him and his family of their current distressful situation, and to give my friend and his family the strength, patience, and faith to deal with this in the best possible manner given the situation.
“The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says, ‘Aameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.’”
Hadith [Sahih Muslim]

Ameen, may Allah
give him the best and ease his trial. Ameen.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I have a friend who is in a coma right now because he had a rare raction to the dye from his Cat Scan. (Please make dua for him).
I found myself calling all my friends and family asking them to include him in their duas. Made me realize what a beautiful community we belong to. and what a beautiful oppurtunity for the sick to benefit from the the healthy; and the healthy to benefit from the sick. Someday we might find ourselves in the same predicament, hoping for the dua’s and prayers, we kindly offer to others.
Br. Haseeb - (or anyone else interested) would you consider starting a blog or a website, where anyone can post a request for dua and where anyone can find maybe just one name to include in their daily prayers. It might not make any difference for us to include just one more name while we pray for ourselves and our family; but it would make a huge difference for the person in need. It would be a great mode of therapy for everyone involved. I know sounds a bit corny… but what do you guys think?
Seriously, does anyone think this could work?
May Allah
relieve him and his family from this hardship.
Here is Du’a Fakk Al-Karb (Du’a for relieving hardship)
There is no God but Allah
the Most Forbearing and Most Generous
the Most High and Incomparably Great
the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Great Throne.
There is no God but Allah
There is no God but Allah
