Isam Bachiri (from Outlandish) writes a letter to hahmed.com readers!
Published by Haseeb April 24th, 2006 in Computers/Web, Music
Back in March, when I advertised Isam’s T-Shirt “Truth is on the side of the oppressed - Malcolm X” , I received alot of feedback from readers, some questioing why Isam wore that shirt, especially at the fact that Malcolm X was named as such and not as El Hajj Malik El-Shabbaz. I didnt realize how big the response was until recently. It seems as if that Ismail, an Outlandish fan, voiced this issue over this matter to Outlandish’s management, and Isam Bachiri recently wrote a letter in response:
Assalamu aleikum…
I hope this mail finds u & yours (and everybody at hahmed.com) in the best of health inshAllah.
I chose to wear the tshirt cuz of the current situation in denmark (with the deamonizing and degrading cartoons of the prophet (pbuh) and the muslims). “The truth is on the side of the oppressed” is the message I want the people to realise and wake up! We, danish muslims, the minority are oppressed and we do have the truth on our side - AND THEY KNOW IT, BUT THRUTH HURTS!!! + the chorus of the song repeates “come again”; In danish, that´s like saying “nice try, but u failed!” - in a satirical way;). Cuz I really feel the danish goverment have failed miserably in this cartoon case! They really need to break their ego´s!
It was the message of the quote! Emphasized on The TRUTH! Cuz the cartoons don´t tell the truth about the Prophet (pbuh)!
Mr Shabazz (Malcolm X) said; “If u don´t dare to tell the truth, u don´t deserve freedom”! I want to hold that against the liars! And it was´nt b/c the video was shot in black and white! Actually the directors deal was; ONLY black and white clothing! But cuz of the message and the situation in dk, I insisted on wearing it, though it´s grey.
At the end of the day, I am sorry for all the fuzz; El Gato has a very good point. I guess I emphasized too much on the message of the quote and the current situation we are in uphere in dk.
Jazakullahu qheiran

grant him peace. http://www.q-news.com/360.pdf (p.32-50).

grant him peace.
wow, did he actually write that?
i couldnt help but notice some spelling mistakes 8-l
anyhow, we all know that Outlandish rule
Thats really cool that he took the time to respond however I also am surprised about the big issue over the “correct” name. Pick your battles.
YO ISAM
ARE YOU WEARING TRANSITIONS LENSES IN THAT PICTURE? THOSE LENSES ARE COOL, THEY ADJUST TO THE LIGHT- INDOORS THEY ARE CLEAR, OUTDOORS THEY ARE TINTED LIKE SUNGLASSES. I WISH I COULD GET COOL TRANSITIONS GLASSES BUT I AM NOT A RICH MUSLIM MUSICIAN, I’M JUST A BROKE STUDENT. WELL, LIKE EL-HAJJ MALIK SHABAZZ SAID: “THE TRUTH IS ON THE SIDE OF THE OPPRESSED”. MAKE DUA FOR ME (SING IT IF YOU CAN), YOU’RE AN INSPIRATION TO MUSLIMS IN THE WEST
BYE
Isam - you and me are brothers when it comes to spelling.
Ismail - good job.
Haseeb - your hits will increase dramatically now.
PS - Check out Isam and Sami singing

To be honest, i dont think its a big deal either (the name), people know him best as Malcolm X, and that shirt was fine. (I have the shirt, and im proud to wear it!)
Amir, good looks on that video clip!!

I seriously can’t even believe the name thing was a big issue.
hey
gato only said touse both names, thats all. all these other people writing were just talking crap. see, malik daughter almost assassinated the man she thought killed her father from the nation of islam, louis farrakhan
the ci.a planted an agent by the name of micheal fitzgerald to make discord and shit.
she almost went to prison. now seperated from her son, he at 12 yrs old tried to burn down his home, and malik shabbazz wife, betty got killed.
the nation of islam killed malik back then, because gato says he discovered true islam and was a big threat to them. he died i mean, he really got killed because he changed his name and his belief, thats what got him killed. and it upset those nation of islam people enough to kill him.
it is a very big deal, gato point was to use both names like malik said to do in his auto written by alex haley.
haseeb, i get your point, i never thought about it all before this post came up, i like the name malcolm x too. it sounds cooler but fact is fact. also those nation of islam people believe that god was elijah mohhamed and malik shabbazz said that was wrong but only after he changed his name. there are lots more details i could give on this topic, i am a big malik fan just about forever, and i can tell you calling him by his right name changes the whole picture, it makes islam alot more powerful in the U,.S thab they would like it to be, so i don’;t wanna sound butsy but that is gato point anf a few other people here that understood it.interesting stuff.
I dont think Isam couldve brought an end to the topic any better.
He explains why he wore it, and the intentions he had behind it. and its obvious its all pure.
if u rlly find the name wrong. Make another t-shirt with both names…. that can be donated to palestinian children, and InshAllah i will buy that one too. And maybe brother Isam would too….
peace

awesome keep the loven commen salam alykom tcarezzzzzzzzz
hm… interesting..
im doing a research paper on him right now for my english class and only found out then that his name was again changed to El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz
salam
shoot right i have to do an artical about him too sweet i got what i need salam alykom
salam,
wow…first off i think that you’ll have a point, but i also think that your missing the point…isam had a purpose in wearing the shirt and I think we gotta take that into consideration before we move…yeah its super interesting and yeah it’s a point but there are way bigger battles to be fighting, how bout the one in denmark??
there are thousands of other things going on in the world that deserve attention wayy more than this does…but thats my opinion and i respect your point and the issue but idk, i guess i believe that theres something bigger out there….
outlandish is great at that mashallah, they take the issues and they fight them in there own way, the issues that affect sooo many people, now i guess my hope is that everyone makes like a part of that effort and maybe it wouldn’t be as bad out there, and if it still is, then alhamduallah we tryed…….
sorry for the way too long entry, but thanks for commenting guys and isam thanks for clarifying, maybe it’s not so big of an issue but im glad you took the time to stop; i guess idk, it makes it seem like we can all do something big…..
aright im really done
take care……salamulakum!
Gato says that the quote was said in 1965 when he had already changed his name Salam, why don;t they just do what he asked? and use both names, the moslem name first-
i am not saying don’t use the t-shirt, i am saying use the right names.
there is no junk to that bigger battle crap cus it starts out with these little things that people can;t get.
gato said when they used that name only, malcolm x, they denied the truth of his evolution so lol malik hajj was being oppresssed
tsk tsk oppressing a dead man,
hi layla, in his auto bio, malik said that the media would not want people to know that he changed his name and became a peaceful man.
thats why you didn’t know he changed his name, they didn;t say so.
Why must all Moslim people take on Arabic names?
I hope I am not upsetting anyone when I say that I don’t think, from studying black history in college, that Malik/Malcolm made a big difference in the civil rights movement. He was a rebellious reactionary and unlike Martin Luther King, he didn’t instill a great change.
He was apart of the group that was racist and very stupid if anyone asks me.
I don’t understand why Moslim people just can’t keep their religion to themselves, religion and God are personal things, by making it public like Malik wanted to do by forcing people to take his new name you are forcing everyone to your opinion and belief. Civil rights had nothing to do with religion. I think Gato has a great point, respect people wishes, but everything for her revolves around Islamic issues and not everything is Islamic. Everyone deserves civil rights. Calling him by the name Malik is bad because it makes everything again come back to a religion. Christianity I am sorry to say is a peaceful religion, Jesus says to turn the other cheek, Islam is a violent religion as you can see and hear from Malik himself said in many quotes that his religion teaches him to bury any man that touches him.
That is just violent, my question is should anyone be wearing his t-shirt at all?
Tanisha
Heee Tanisha,
I’m sorry to say but what your saying is totally wrong.
Christianity is not a violent religion. Did you ever take any history lessons?? Ever heard about the crusades??
Have you ever heard of the IRA or ETA??? Every religion has his own piece of violence. That goed for Christianity too.
Malik el Shabazz said that if your atacked you have the RIGHT to defend yourself!!! What would you do if you were being atacked??? Turn the other cheek??? Don’t make me laugh. Jesus was not as peacefull as you think.
Your definitley right when you say that the Nation of Islam is racist and stupid. I couldn’t agree with you more. But they do not follow the real principles of Islam and that’s why Malik el Shabazz left that organisation and that’s why they assisinated him.
Could you please tell me what big change Martin Luther King brought to the civil rights movement??? I think they both brought much to the movement. Each on his own way.
Civil rights has everything to do with religion as it does with other aspects of freedom. You have the right to be whoever you want to be. And I totally agree that you should never force anyone to do anything. Islam says the same thing. That people, who are muslims, don’t do that is another thing, but you can’t blame a religion 4 that.
I’m mean look at President Bush. What he does in name of religion. Your with us or against us. Please!!! Do I think that Christianity is violent?? NO, I don’t because I know how to divide religion and religious people.
What do you exactly mean by why can’t muslims keep there religion for themselves?? In what aspect??
How did Malik El Shabazz force anyone to take his name and how does that make you force other people your opinion or belief?? I mean, are you really serieus???
Muslim people take on Arabic names because the prophet (pbuh) was Arabic. And Islam you should follow the way of the prophet (soenna). That’s why.
I would DEFINITLEY wear his T-shirt just because of the simple fact that I believe in what he stand for.
You should respect other people, but if your being atacked you have the right to defend yourself.
Wassalaam Fatima
salam…
aright, you have a point, people should be respecting his wishes, honestly i didn’t see how much the affect of his name could have on people untill i read a couple of the past few posts…thanks though kawan, i guess theres a bigger picture and your right, without respect bigger things happen….i just hate the fact that no body looks out past their driveway, theres way more out there in the world…well i guess my opinions bias, i live in the U.S. where no one cares….
anyways, tanisha; im not gonna tell you anything other that know what your gonna talk about before talking, i make that mistake a lot (umm!) but i’ve learned that people, school society doesnt’ always give you the full pic. especially not with Muslims right now….check it out for yourself; don’t trust everything you read;
sorry for the long speeck filled with nothingness before…take care
salam
Oh My God, what big change did Martin Luthor King bring Fatima? How can you ask that? He was about to become vice president of america to kennedy, and then they were both assassinated. martin luther king changed the state of civil right especially in the south where blacks were being lynched until way late.
i have already read gato comments fatima , i don’t need anyone to parrot to me about malik being killed for changing his name, lord knows she has a few very long posts about that and her sense of humor is exotic to say the least, could come from a very experienced stripper,
i have a college degree in what went down in black america, i don’t think anyone NOT BLACK would understand what actually happened to us, it didn”t have alot to do with religion.
kawan, i already read gato comments please stop quoting her. it gets annoying.
i respect her, i really do but she provokes the hell out of me.
Heee Tanisha,
I didn’t say he didn’t make a big change. I said what bigger change did he make then Malik El Shabazz, because you said Malik El Shabazz didn’t do much for the movement. I totally disagree. Could you tell me where I can find that he was about to become vice-president of the USA???
Well, you didn’t read the comments very well. Malik El Shabazz wasn’t murdered because of changing his name, but his BELIEFS. That’s a huge difference.
That’s the difference between you and me. I believe that, no matter what color you are, you can understand other peoples suffering. Your weren’t there and I wasn’t there?? So why would you be able to better understand the situation than I??? Just because your black and I’m brown!!! I’m African and proud off it . It gets no blacker than that. I’m getting sick and tired of eople saying that we can’t possibly understand. The same goes for you. You weren’t there either.
Could you please answer my other questions?? I was actually waiting for a comment.
Wassalaam Fatima
I think the Quote is self is very powerful, the Name Malcolm X is recognized world wide a lot more so than El Hajj Malik El-Shabbaz, which is a major reason to have malcolm X name on the shirt.
Salam
I am curious to know why Gato has not responded to this letter.
There are several deeply rooted problems with her projection of Islam. People like her create rifts, as ”democratic” parties such as Hamas do.
Fatah is a much better group to win, funnily enough I saw a simliar battle taking place between Radical Gato and Peaceful Gihad. I wonder if anyone else saw the same thing? Obviously Gato is the worst possible person to have around when making a bid for peace. My personal opinion.
What she says is the truth but projecting truth in that revolutionary violent way does help anyone. If Troy is a hero today, he was not in his day.
sorry I spelt similar wrong. I am just reading past comments, I don’t see why this Malcolm X issue should be tied to Outlandish. Everyone calls Malcolm X by that name. Why should Isam have known any different?
(S.W.T) has given everyone a period of suffering and grace.
Why would Gato assume that Isam should have known any differently?
I agree Outlandish are good Muslim music band, but are they supposed to Alims? Do Alims even know about this issue? It is a strange thing to think about sincerely, how does someone come across this fantastial though true thought?
I agree wth everything Gato says but I don’t think it is that big of a deal because most people are not educated to the Nation of Islam.
Tanisha, black people do not have the right to assume they have suffered more than other people. Everyone suffers in their own way, Allah
Hi Fatima
I know lots of war were done in the nameof Christianity but it is a very peaceful religion that people have distorted. Islam commands you to fight, that Jihad and everything while Christianity says to turn the other cheek like Ghandi. MLK said that all along, even Rev Jesse Jackson knew he was about to become vice president. I am sorry, everyone knows this, who pays attention to black history. Being brown and living in Africa is totally different, if you are speaking about North African they are nothing like African people, they belong more to the Arabian sides, their culture and all is very Arabian, Congo and Algeria could not be more different, nothing in common at all.
Hi Darus
Please. I don’t think any other nation were stolen by the millions in slave ships. Read Roots please. If your God gives everyone equal amounts of pain and suffering then heavenly mathematics are totally different on earth. It is totally different to be stolen from your home then just to have war come to your home. At least you have your home in that way.
When we were stolen we lost our heritage and everything. You should read some of Martin King speeches and learn what he is trying to say. If you are not black you will never understand what we are going through.
Hi Tanisha,
Your truly an American!!!! Jihad and everything??? I hear American media speaking. You probaly never made the effort to learn somehing about Islam. There is much much to Islam then Jihad!!!! Islam says if your being attacked just because your Muslim, you have the right to defend yourself. That’s one meaning of Jihad (the fysical fight). The other meaning ( the most important one) is the struggle of muslims with their own ego (nafs) (the mental fight).
Christianity is not a violent religion!!!!! Hellooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Have you ever read the Bible???
There are sooooooooo many verses in the Bible with violence and bloodshed. Read Psalmen, Jesaja, Jeremia Samual and so on. If you like, the next time I’ll give you the exact verses.
It’s funny that you made a comment about the beautifull and heartbreaking movie Roots. Did you know that your ancestors were Muslims and that the white people forced there religion up on them???
I loved that scene when Kunta Kinte threw away the pork, when he did the salat (islamic prayer), when he didn’t want to give up he’s real name when he’s was given a slave name ( I’m sorry to say but Tanisha is also a slave name) and stayed muslim untill the day he died.
Islam is the fastest growning religion in the world. Also among the African-Americans. There going back to there true roots and religion and as you said to their heritage.
I know of Rev Jesse jackson, but still I want some information were I can find this. You said you have a college degree in Black History. So you must have some books about the subject?? Could you please give it to me ( the titels of the books)??? I want to read it for myself. I don’t believe in hear-say. You know, they still say 2pac is alive:-)
(And I hope he is)
I’m sorry to say, but Americans dont know nothing about the world.
I’m a true African. I’m moroccan. I’m a Berber. Thats the orginal population of Morocco. We have been taking over by Arabs and forced to learn there way of living. Our heritage and roots have also been stolen from us and STILL is. But thank god we mainted it and slowley ( with the new King of Morocco also an Arab but I’m not hating because our beloved prophet (PBUH) was an Arab) the Berbers are allowed to express themselves.
I’m stillllll waiting for answers on all my questions!!!! It seems that your avoiding it.
Wassalaam Fatima
mashallah this guy..
mashallah…isam, i don’t think you focused too much on the quote and your situation, thats exactly what you should be focusing on, it’s what affects people right now and the quote says it all. the tiny small complications, the name etc., don’t matter as much, your speaking out on an issue that affects you and Muslims all over the world…your totally right
keep up the great work, mashallah you guys inspire so many…
salam
hi Fatima
do you have an email, maybe we can continue this conversation privately, i would like to learn more about your culture and tell you how i feel on certain things as well.
hey cool post!! wow, ur site is growin by the day bro!
my props 2 the outland bros… take it 2 ppl the way it is. good choice wearin tht top!
now, think realistically: how many ppl would hav known who Hajji Malik is vs. Malcolm X? ease up anyway, no biggie!
Yeah, I agree with that Muslim Power. Not many know, I think that Gato point was to educate people but I am deeply puzzled by one thing - why must we Islamise everything. I am not a religious Muslim although I have been born into a Muslim family, I don’t see the need for everyone to become overly Islamic. I get the point loud and clear, I agree, nice idea- add both names, but the world is under enough burden from religions. Even this Isam is outrageous, why must people take such offence from a cartoon? Is he just an uptight human being? To me, Gato and Isam are both tripping. Him over cartoons and her over a name- what is the difference? They both take Islam way too seriously.
Ok, fatima, I see the berber problem but in that case isn;t your name also a slave name since the arabs took over your country?
Hi Nick
You must not be a Muslim! The cartoons were highly offensive!
salaamz
OMG!!I can’t believe Isam actually sat down and wrote summat!!!lol
hehehe
i know im kinda l8 lol bt hey at least am sayn summat!!!
OUTLANDISH ROCK!!!
all da best

Hi Tanisha,
You can have my mail adress. It’s pac4ever16@hotmail.com.
We just moved out to another new home, and we still haven’t setteld in yet. I don’t have internet at the moment. But we’re on it.
It will take about two or three weeks till we get connected. To answer your question; my name is not a slave name, it’s an Islamic name. That’s the big difference between your name and mine…
I take that name with pride, because it was the name of the most beloved daughter of our prophet (pbuh)
Holler me at my mail adress. I look forward hearing from you.
Wassalaam Fatima…
EQUALITY
(Peace be on him) said, “An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor has a non-Arab any superiority over an Arab, nor has a black man any superiority over a white man over a black man except by the criterion of taqwa (righteous practice). All of you are from Adam, and Adam is from dust.”
Prophet Muhammad
Hadith As-sunnah.
I don’t see why my name is my slave name if I am thinking free human being. I don’t see why people like Gato make a big deal over names and I also don’t see why Isam made a big deal over the cartoons. Are people who are not Moslims supposed to have no opinion on Islam? Denmark is mainly a non-Moslim country, are they supposed to walk on egg shells so that the very small Moslim population is not insulted? That is silly to me. Like I said before, I get the two name thing, I agree with Gato, but why must people have a fit over such small things like cartoons and names even if there is a small truth in it?
Hi Fatima
I am sorry if I offended you, your name has a great meaning, will definately write to you. I am interested to know about your culture.
tanisha wake up!
salaamz
hey Mujahideen Ryder
hw did u get the video of sami and isam????
anyway what concert was it takem in????
plz reply asap!!lol
w’salaam
Nice letter from isam. Gihad wrote a very nice reply to Gatos (cough) war attack. It is back on the other page. Everyone should read it because she makes sense. What Gihad said may not be pristinely pure yadda yadda but it does work in the world. So Gato is saying change the whole world and Gihad is saying let us work with what we have got.
Big difference.
Isam seems to be on the wrong track completely, he didn’t even address the name issue which means that he did not read Gato comments which means that he WOULD NOT KNOW IF SHE HAD A GOOD POINT!
Peace
Look, so what if Isam didn’t read Gato’s comments,Outlandish probably doesn’t like her and she really doesn’t seem to like them either. Her points were very very good.
How does a band who acts Islamic suddenly take off an ALCOHOL ban, and then put it back after they are no longer being scrutinized? It is obvious that they are more concerned with how the West sees them (this is why they said in J.P that they do not want to be known for any rules etc only for their music)
When she said moon reflecting light I think she meant that they are inspired by Islam by cannot carry it out.
Outlandish Muslim fans don’t seem to care because everyone likes Isam Bachiri. That is a very stupid thing.
Mako- Isam is trying to explain his position. I don’t blame him for wearing the t-shirt, it was nice.
Mako
Just because I support Isam and Outlandish doesn’t mean I cant support Gato. I like her stuff. You must read her stuff too because you say in your post the words BIG DIFFERENCE which she says alot. In our letters you quoted or refer to her many times but immediately say something bad about her.
I think it is childish of you to read her stuff, learn from her and then bad mouth her. I am sorry that we stopped writing but your idolization of Outlandish etc is really immature, like what girls would do. I like Outlandish for their music and their message. I was upset that they dropped the alcohol ban but I will definitely still be going to see them in London on the 8th.
I don’t think Gato dislikes Outlandish, she has a very strong mind of her own but so what if she doesn’t love Isam Baciri? Lol. Doesn’t he have enough girls that love him? Lol. That must be why he doesn’t say he is married, coz he probably thinks female Outlandish fans will be very upset and not listen to their music anymore.
Memona
Yes, it was a great point but am I gonna scream in joy? Gato did pick on Outlandish, everyone in the world wears shirts with the name Malcolm X, it may not be right but everyone does it. Gato decides to show the world her rambling genius by picking on Outlandish of all people? Top it off with her bitchy conversation about their drinking ban. She hates them. There are millions of people in the world that call him Malcolm X, she is right but why diss OL in saying the truth?
I support Mako, I think what she says ain’t wrong, it is actually very right BUT WHY PICK ON OUTLANDISH? I cant help but seriously dislike her and want to hate on her as well. She should not have picked on them. end of story.
Anyone have her email address? I would just like to tell her a few things in private.
i go you one better, everyone who lives in south africa email me and i can send you cell phone number. spam her hahah
Wassalam Mohammad
Come on Mako, that makes it very serious to give her cell and details away. She is still a sister from around the block and even if no love lost between you, she is speaking of an issue. You are making it personal.
Tanisha, you have a strangely rational point but it has holes. If you came to the khutbah like you promised you would (you will never see this when you go back U.S again) why not take advantage of a good chance now that it is staring you in the face?
alot of people come by and just watch. You will see people of all races praying together. If you want to know what Malik Shabaz gave that Martin King did not- come to the Khutbah next friday.
Nadem,
It has been so great living in the complex and learning from you guys but you think Americans are arrogant and blind people. I think South Africans are just like that, maybe even worse!!!
I have never seen more racism then here especially in this complex. All the students from Zimbabwe, Nigeria etc are disliked.
Back home we are fighting for the rights of Mexican people even though they are illegal, in South Africa everyone is against the Mexicans because they dislike immigrants so much, in this country and in the U.S.
Back home we are united because we’re black, over here being depends on which kind of black you are her, from which country, all countries not South African are not good enough. This only exists amongst the black people in South Africa but the Indians have this about the Pakistani (they say they are all crooks) and the Chinese have it here about everyone!
I have never felt more American then here and I am proud to be an American where people can have strikes to get citizenship. In South Africa if you tried to do that you would get arrested, last night Zoo having a laugh saying if he tried to get citizenship for himself they would just throw him back to Zimbabwe.
Why are South Africans so racist to everyone not a South African? People say Americans are arrogant because we come from America, but South Africans are just like this.
I really like South Africa but have you guys never opened your eyes and seen how you treat the other students? They all live together (so much for the cultural experience) none of them share apartments with South African?
I was stupefied!
Moslem people also feel so superior over everyone else. You all have such a snobby air about you. I don’t mean to be rude but you do!
I don’t see why Islamic prayer makes a big difference, in the church we also pray together.
hey tanisha thats bein cheeky how are muslims snobby??? i dont think we are!!!if some are it doesn’t mean we all are thats just sterotyping!!
I’m very sorry bout that. I just meant the few that I know from my stay here. I don’t mean anyone anywhere else.
This stupid conversation is being carried on at another blog, everyone is sore at me for no reason. If people just allowed other people to have their opinions.
lol ok i understand!!
Another wonderful Gihad Ali poem (the other is based on song called Look Into my eyes)
The Holy Land
My country ‘tis of thee
Sacred land, no liberty
For thee I weep
Land where my people die
Land for which refugees cry
From every ethnic side
Let peacefulness keep
The love for her homeland is obvious. It is a good poem.

assalam alakum,
Keef Kum?, insha’Allah
bil qhar? So… I really am happy that isam took the time to write back, u did a great job. I gotta agree with all the people who said that quote by Malcolm X is the truth. It’s nothin but the truth. We are bein opressed and no one from the other side knows how badly it hurt, and for some still hurts.
But in reality, muslims aren’t the only ones bein opressed, people all over the world are and for isam to wear that shirt so everyone could see, is not only the truth, but is a relief. He actually let it be known to people that its wrong and insulting.
Im from detroit and when other people besides muslims heard about it they started to joke and laugh. It was not something to laugh about so all of the people who were insulted by it, started printin out flyers that said ” The truth is on the side of the oppressed”, Malcolm X. When all these flyers went around we started gettin scoulded at but we didnt care we wanted people to know the facts, and finally when they realised it, they started respecting us more.
So Bravo to you Isam, you gave us the strength and courage to show people how we felt, You the man!!!!
Dont Hate, Appreciate.
Najwa
Oh and for the record tanisha, Maybe people are being sore, because ur comments are un-neccessary, there really offensive.
But then again, your comments are a very good example of what Malcolm X said. You kept on going on how you believe we dont understand what black people went through, when on the other hand fatima defended herself on saying what you said about muslims is not true, and how you dont understand what we went through.
“The truth is on the side of the oppressed” Lesson learned!
Here you can watch the whole video!->->

stupid topic, driven by your dislike for outlandish. even the way you wrote was comtemptous. obviously outlandish lives in europe which is not a muslim continent, this is trying to shove your islam down everyone throat, she cannot islamize the world. if doesn’t matter if malcolm x wanted to be called malik, his image is bigger than him and he could not control it. why must you make everything an islamic issue?
he was a very controversial figure, most controversial during his malcolm x period and that is why he is remembered by that name.
who gives a hoot if you believe you are defending malcolm x honor? he is not here, outlandish used a name that is universally known to share a message. you said that we should associate both names? what for? malik did not have time to accomplish anything under the name malik because he was assassinated for the reason of becoming what you call a true muslim. outlandish is trying to share the message of the malcolm who fought during the civil rights movement, even you cannot deny that he accomplished nothing under malik name because he did not have time to.
when you say the whole history please remember that few people care about the whole history, they like the slogan, it is popular, it carries well. does it matter if the slogan is simplistic? do outlandish remind you of think tanks or professors? they are popular singers in a hip hop/pop band who sang a nice song and gave a good message.
gihad is right- she said that THEY did not give malcolm the X title, the nation of islam did.
do you consider the nation of islam who was a civil rights groups (if you do not consider them true muslims) to be THEM?
tanisha, you are the most simple human being one could come across. in america everything is black and white. in africa and south africa everything is different. i am from canada, in canada we don’t face these problems. coming to south africa to what you call this bigoted commune of students is vastly different. africa is a big continent with different countries and different problems.
black people are not racist to each here, that does not become an issue. they don’t happen to like certain traits about the other. QUOTE MAKO / GATO/ KANT/ BIG DIFFERENCE.
gihad does write nice poems.
fatima from britain, you are so confused.
the berber culture was not colonized by arabs. the berber were not muslims before the arab came and married into the berbers. they had the capabilities to rule the country and infused arabic, the language of the koran as the language of the people. globalization means that only the major languages survived then and now. don’t become righteous where it is unnecessary.
outlandish fans: listen to more music. just b/c outlandish has 2 muslims in the band doesn’t make it permissable.
btw, isam is as stupid as gato if he responded to something she wrote on creating an islamic empire on the name of malik. isn’t that her aim? islam is superior to everything? wake up gato! islam is a religion that helps to keep people good. buddhism does this. christianity does this. there are many problems in the world that cannot be solved by islam. do you think that people hearing malcolm is malik is going to show them his transformation from criminal to hero? you have a very basic thought process.
people don’t think about malcolm x as anything but an extremist. alot like you.
people like you end up as he did.
that message was for gato.
the girl from detriot who printed the flyers, funny story.
why was anyone oppressed by the cartoons? pictures like this can drawn all the time. do you print flyers when Jesus etc are caricatured? wasn’t he also a Prophet? you want to control the freedom of expression act? Are you any better than Gato who wants to make the whole world call everything by an Islamic name?
Next she will say WE MUST SAY CERTAIN WORDS IN ARABIC, WRITE OUT OUR GROCERY LISTS IN ARABIC, SIGN OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES IN ARABIC- people have the right to draw anything they want, say anything they want provided that it does not incite violence.
teh cartoons incited violence because many people can’t control their fists. why should we be oppressed because one newspaper had no respect for the Prophet? I think even Malcolm X WOULD HAVE LAUGHED AT THAT! he is usually the first person to threaten to blow things up!
WHY DID OUTLANDISH ETC USE THE QUOTE OF SOMEONE WHO INCITED VIOLENCE EVERYDAY OF HIS LIFE? DOES VIOLENCE COUNTER OPPRESSION OR CREATE MORE OPPRESSION? DOES THE GIRL WHO PRINTED THE FLYERS THINK THAT MALCOLM X WHEN THREATENED TO BLOW AND SHOOT PEOPLE ARE ANY BETTER THAN THE PEOPLE WHO PRINTED THE CARTOONS?
whatever!!
Gato has a big implication BEESAN 16, you think it is just about a name.
she is stating that malik wanted his name used because he said that islam is the only cure for the trouble in america. is it? does america need to become islamic? look at the islamic states - can islam even work on an administrative level?
malik also demanded that his name be used. he wanted all the african american people to see that islam helped him, so it could help them.
can it really? we must remember people are different, what worked for him does not work for everyone. many people who are muslim in name are not really muslim.
it is good to respect him by using the name he chose for himself, like the other person said, if he did not think it absolutely importent he would not have changed it.
BUT THIS DOES NOT WORK IN THE WORLD TODAY. everyone has to see that living in compromise for peace is more importent that saying i have the solution to peace, with me or against me.
that is just what anakin skywalker did and he went to the dark side.
that is the ABSOLUTISM OF THE JEDI AND THE CHOSEN JEDI ANAKIN BECAME EVIL!
dARIUS: i agree with you completely, gihad and gato- fatah and hamas-
without fatah no palestinian government would have been created for hamas to take over, but hamas always was on the opposing end, refusing to help themselves if it was not in their terms 100%.
look where the palestinians are now, starving and hungry with no money b/c hamas was voted in.
in like, gato would say everything is an absolute and if people don’t agree to her terms 100% then what they say is wrong. no give or take with her or hamas.
people like gihad are what they are because they believe in humanity, give and take etc
for the record the outlandish peformance at islam channel was shocking! the more one gets to know them the more you see how bland they are, all that guys jokes fell flat. the host was the worst host i have ever seen. she was rude and disrespectful. i have seen better jobs coming from the kids who just reported on youth day (5 year old). Isam looks at a loss 90% of the time. how often does he go on stage? I am not insulting, just questioning why he got stage fright. stage fright comes out in different ways.
i am not surprised b/c he in his letter pasted above he is explaining to gato why he wore grey when the director said only black and white. he is so regretful of everything he sounds almost suicidal.
she on the other hand is probably holding a whip to her grandmother throat saying bow down to islam granny or i will behead you!
Berbers are natives of North Africa. They were colonized by the Arabs. They have many different dialects, they had versions of the Qoran in their dialects, destroyed by the Arabs.Berbers are split, some don’t mind te Arab culture, many others want to see their own culture in the government.
Berbers are like the Aborigine nation. The best jobs, education etc are all closed to them. There is alot of inter-marriage but racism dies hard!
There are many Africans who are racist, don’t kid yourself, South African consider the differences in color, some countries like the darkest, others prefer the lightest.
It was Hume who first said Big Difference.
Why do watch Outlandish songs etc if you don’t like them?
You watched Star Wars with Hayden and Natalie? You suck even worse than the girl flyer girl from Michigan.
She seems more Canadian btw;
Quote: Just Because Outlandish has 2 Muslims in the band doesn’t make it permissable?
Are you saying music is not permissable or was that a typo in your brain?
BTW: the name thing actually dawned on me the other day.
It has nothing to do with the name. The name just does deeper into the way he changed. He was a powerful guy. His change would change many people.
Omar (R.A) said: If the statement is unclear in name and origin, the reactions will not be clear.
applies possibly?
no they were not colonized.
btw: in south africa you people spell things so differently, everything is with a an S and not a Z, do you spell check your words (eg right now you spell colonize with a Z instead of an S?) or do you just adapt to different spelling?
you spell honor as honour / favorite as favourite etc
you are quite wrong, malcolm x was an extremist. if he preached compromise and love from beginning he would not have been assassinated. by the end when he did come to peace it was too late, the FBI and Nation of Islam were to afraid.
I don’t watch Outlandish video, got it in my email box from a DJ. he seems to like them.
Maimonedes said Large Gap : could that be where big difference comes from? I have heard Kant but never Hume. Freud (in my humble opinion) really took advantage of sexual inhibitions in the mind. He related everything to sex (turned people on to know everything was lack of sex related) i read that in an article. it made sense to me.
nod, ru trying to copy my style by leaving multiple posts? i am longwinded but this is my nature, and repressed rage from working at classifieds for so long.
SALAM HASSAN
u don´t feel oppressed but over 70%…feel oppressed….ok its your opinion….but i felt like u didn´t respect mine…..an i feel really sorry u don´t understand the TRUTH and the message ISAM gave me an the rest….i respect your opinion but why do you see all so negative??????i didn´t understand this….
IT´S REALLY ALL ABOUT THE TRUTH…..i don´t know in what 4 a world do u live….they don´t sing or rap about this hole bling bling issue…it´s just every day life if its here or there it doesn´t matter…..ok u don´t like them…but tell somethin´ isn´t the truth is not good…i´ll hope u understand this….
SALAM
Salaamz
Hey Hassan useen really negative btw about the spelling thing here in the UK that’s how u spell stuff so there!!!eventhough Nadeemz in SA
W’salaam
Salaam Aleikum everbody,
It’s been awhile, but again I have to respond to Hassan.
I think you mean me, Fatima from the Netherlands, not Fatima from Britain, when you adressed that I was confused about the Berber topic.
Can you please tell me the reasons why you don’t believe that we were colonized???
All that other stuff that you were saying is true, but one thing NOT.
That’s the fact that you say we were not colonized. How do you call it when another country comes and takes away your languege, culture and roots and force theirs on yours??? Or am I wrong??
Nadeem, you read my mind!!!
Wassalaam Fatima
Salaam again,
I made a mistake when I said that all the other stuff you said is true. ABSOLUTLEY NOT!!!!!!
I don’t have time now to go into it, because I have to work. But later on I definitley WILL.
Hassan, take some history lessons please
Wassalaam Fatima
Fatima from Netherlands
forget him, he was obviously never coloniSed.
he has not responded to the quran burning/job/education/living standard that Berbers have to deal with. Only a small percentage have full access to these things. Government in Algeria, Morocco etc is comprised mostly of Arabs with a few Berber who are just there for show. It is very very difficult for them.
Who cares how I spell stuff? take it up with the President of S.A
I am sure he will give you an audience.
Heeeeeeee Nadeem,
You know what!!!! Your absolutley right.
Why waste my time on someone who doesn’t want to listen???
It’s all about common sense and it’s ashame that Hassan doesn’t have that
Byeeee
Nod, if the Berbers were coloniZed by the Arabs then also the Berbers themselves tortured and killed the people in the Sahara (many different tribes and like that lived there). why pick only on the Arabs when the Berbers tortured and killed the Sahara people for centuries before Arabs even arrived.
the fatimah who spoke about my hissy fit on language, you should know that the reason you and south africa spells thing alike is because britian coloniZed south africa.kautar why should i feel oppressed b/c some idiot drew pictures? If Isam wanted to talk about the pictures somuch he could have openly done that in his video by holding up the pictures and or making a referral to it. he did not do that.
salam hassan
with this shirt he wanted 2 let known how the most of islamic people feel in denmark, after this cartoons, they feel oppressed….but others don´t….an this idiot how drew this pictures didn´t feel sorry….cuz of this shit of freedom of speech…he feel like he´s on the right side…..but this has got to be stopped….why we muslims don´t drew cartoons of jesus cuz we learned not to be disrespectful,we learned the acquaintance with others an other religions…..an why we should sit an do nothing….we have 2 change the world…..OUTLANDISH sing about poor, control, religion, force, beauty of life an finnaly about the truth…..so,i just want 2 know if u understand this side…
