Nice. Inshallah I’ll try to check it out…
Salam,
This is off topic!
However, regarding MSA’s - school boards in Ontario, CA (high schools) have asked that MSA’s no longer be called MSA’s - because it presents an “exclusive” image of the group. All religion and race affiliated groups are being asked to change their names to something which would be more inviting to all people.
Views?
Asalamualaikum, just listened to one of his lectures , mashAllah very eloquent, can’t wait to come back to NY to attend one, inshAllah.
I’m wondering…what sort of names do they suggest?
They have asked that we refrain from using ‘muslim’ ‘black’ ‘christian’ - anything which identifies the group to a specific race, religion and sounds exlusive in nature.
As a member of the MSA, I don’t believe the request is something we should really argue over. Although, coming up with a name that makes no reference to muslims is very difficult. Ideas?
Should we discuss this on another forum?
