Glory Road

rday I saw Glory Road with a couple of good friends (picked by Sadiya Muniruddin bhabi). I really hadnt heard of the movie before seeing it but I was told I would like it if i liked Remember the Titans (which i loved). And i did love this movie too! Glory Road is the story of a great basketball coach who put together a college basketball team primarily of black players in southern Texas in the 1960s. Not only was he the first coach to put together a team consisting of mostly black players, but in his first year there he went on to lead the ‘unknown team’ to a one-loss record and going on to defeat Kentucky in the NCAA championship game to become NCAA Division I champions! This game was known as the greatest upset in NCAA history. In Glory Road, Jerry Bruckenheimmer does a great job portraying the struggles that the coach and all the players endured during their season and playoffs. It is quite amazing how different this country was like less than 40 years ago in terms of racial perception. Ironically, look at basketball today, it’s dominated by blacks! lol. Now white people are considered inferior in the sport (as well as most sports, lol). Alhamdulillah… I highly recommend this movie to all, its a beautiful (and clean) movie that all can benefit from.
Speaking of movies, i saw Syriana about 2-3 weeks ago as well, and thats another amazing movie I highly recommend. Gives a great insight into how complex geo-politics in the mid-east actually are.

i heard of the movie but didnt see it, but now ima see it
helloo. Yes..i agree both movies are great though the titans is better…cos there was so much chemistry between the football players.

That’s all? I guess it was too complex for you to develop any insights on it. Well, Curious George is coming out, and my six year old daughter would like to read your review of it.
