NYC: MTA STRIKE!… Borat Sued & Responds!

Its possible theyll negotiate and come up with something overnight, but well see. I heard alot of schools in NYC will have finals posponed due to the strike? Lucky them! My exam tomorrow is still tomorrow - wait later today!!!

, I just wanted to share a quick news update with my favorite Ali G character, Borat Sagdiyev (Борат Сагдиев). Sacha Baron Cohen (the actor who plays Borat) has recently been sued by the Kazakhstani government for Borat’s character. (Hes pretty much a an outrageously funny racist, sexist, anti-semitic, homophobic, and mysoginistic character - who by the way is HILARIOUS!). The Kazakhstani government went as far as to take out a 4 page ad in the New York Times to defend the Kazakhstani name. It was titled, "Kazakhstan in the 21st Century," and carried testimonials to its oil production, its democracy, education system, and purported "power and influence" of women. So in response to all this, with a real pending lawsuit, what does Borat do?
He issued the following statement on his official website, www.borat.kz (since removed by the Kazakh government - and yes he actually managed to get an official .kz kazakhstani url)
In response to Mr Ashykbayev [Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister] comments, I like to state I have no connection with Mr Cohen.
I support my government’s decision to sue this Jew.
Since the 2003
<inaudible> reforms, Kazakhstan is as civilized as any country in the world. Women can now travel on inside of bus. Homosexuals have no longer to wear blue hats. And age of consent has been raised to eight years old.Please, captains of industry, I encourage you come to Kazakhstan where we have incredible natural resources, hard working labour and some of the cleanest prostitutes in whole of Central Asia.
