yeah i guess that does make alot of sense, it must be referring to the Prophet (pbuh), i suppose its about how we have deviated from his sunnah and the straight path and how different things would be if he was here with us. alhamdillah its a great feeling to miss someone whom we have never even met before! there is a hadith where the Prophet (pbuh) says to his companions ‘i miss my beloved ones’. the companions were surprised and said ‘oh messenger, are we not your beloved ones?’. The prophet (pbuh) replied ‘you are my companions’. then they said ‘who are your beloved ones?’ The prophet (pbuh) replied ‘the people who will come after you and they believe in me without seeing me….’ I think that is a very touching and beautiful hadith. what do you think?

“Moro” = term Spanish used for North African Muslms who ruled and civilized Spain for 800 years (al Andalus) - in English called Moors - and which the Spanish later used for other Muslims like those they came across in the Philippines, who are today known “officially” as Moros.
I really like this song caus it speaks to the busy-ness of the life of the immigrant who works hard and is good, and the next generation who values so much the hard-earned material luxuries like new and nice clothes, and finds it hard and embarassing to follow the faith. I think though it’s a very sympathetic look at this embarassed person, and speaks to his inner goodness too, his inner desire to answer Allah
’s call.

as soon as i heard the song i recognized it as being based on an email forward i had once gotten called a memo from God or something like that.
I think it’s neat how they’ve picked up and are cross-referencing the internet culture, and also have elevated this poem to a much higher plane and made it more respectful in a way, so its not in God’s voice but the servant’s.

You went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done you turned on the TV I don’t know if I like TV or not, just about anything goes there & you spend a lot of time each day in front of it, not thinking about anything-just enjoying the show .
