Thanks for the memories Mike Piazza; Mets Season in Review
Published by Haseeb October 2nd, 2005 in Sports
Today was most probably Mike Piazza’s last game as a Met. During his tenure here Piazza has been my favorite Met, and my favorite player in all of baseball. For over 7 years, and earning close to $100 million, Piazza has been worth every penny. This future first ballot hall-of-famer has been the Mets MVP every year (except this year), and has led the Mets to several great seasons, including a National League Championship in 2000. Over his career, he has belted almost 400 homeruns, with an overall average around .311, being one of the best hitters of the 1990s - early 2000s. Even though lately his stats have plummetted and his defensive liabilities became more evident, Mike Piazza has left me, and all Mets fans with many great memories, and we are very greatful for his days as a Met. Most likely he will be moving to an AL team next year to finish his career as a Designated Hitter. I wish Piazza nothing but the best in the future, and I really hope the Yankees dont sign him.
As far as the Mets go, yes unfortunately next year will have to wait till next year. But this year has not been an entire disappointment. The Mets have finished with 83 wins this season, and if they werent in the NL East, they wouldve been a lock for the playoffs. Moreover, David Wright has stepped up to
prove himself to be one of the best players in the game today and will lead the mets to 10+ years of exciting play at the plate and at the hot corner (third base). He surpassed every1s expectations and has finished the season (.308, 102 RBI, 27 HR), leading the mets in virtually every offensive category besides HR (Floyd, 33) and SB (Reyes, 60!). Jose Reyes has proven himself to be one of the most exciting players in the league and hes fun to watch everytime he gets on base (his 60 SB is the league’s best). So unfortunately while this year isnt the Mets’, we have a strong team that will surely be in the playoff race for years to come.
O yea, Yankees are AL East champs, whoopdi-freakin-do.
Go Red Sox!!!!!!

Damn Straight Yankees are the AL Champs!
Mets suck, as always, and stop being a dildo, the Red Sox suck too
You need to stop hating on the Yankees and forget Mike Piazza and the stupid Mets.
Mike Piazza has left me, and all Mets fans with many great memories, and we are very greatful for his days as a Met.
What’s Mike Piazza ever done for you retard
LIKE I SAID, he has left me many great memories with monster homeruns and game winning hits as a MET. He has also led us to many great victories and a couple of great winning seasons. Shea wont be the same without him…
You’re a loser.
i have never lived in selden in my whole entire life
and i dont need to prove my ghetto ness to u, cuz im so black, it comes natural, hahahahahaha
Like i wrote on ur blog amir, the red sox are smart.
By losing the AL east, the Red Sox get to play the sucky WHITE SOX (who lost about 20 of their last 30 games) in the first round of the playoffs, whereas the Yankees have to play the red-hot Angels who are by far a better team!
The Angels won the season series against the Yankees both this season and last season. Oh yea, and who defeated the yankees in the playoffs in 2002 to go on to win the World Series? The ANGELS!!!!
So like i said in my post, Yankees are AL East Champs - whoopdidoo, thats all theyre gonna be this year - they aint gettin past the angels!
you shouldnt associate being black with being ghetto. they are NOT the same and its insulting and pretty rude to suggest it.
the yankees are a far better team than the mets and kansas city royals. the mets and kansas city royals dont put their money where their mouths are. if you are the mets or kansas city royals you shouldnt complain about the yankees being sucky (which they arent) or paying too much to their players (which the mets or kansas city could be doing if they werent so cheap). the yankees are too nice. we all know that.
YAAAAAAAAY! Go Mets!
