Violent Collision in Mets Outfield
Published by Haseeb August 11th, 2005 in SportsIf you guys havent seen it, here it is: Beltran and Cameron collide in Outfield
WARNING: Not for the faint of heart
Earler today, both Beltran and Cameron dove head on, fully extended into each ohteri n the attempt to catch a fly ball into the outfield. That was the most violent, worse collision I have ever seen in baseball, well actually any sport period. At least football collisions involve players with thick padded helmets. These two players dove head on to each other colliding head to sholder directly. Thankfully, at least Beltran was able to get up afterwards, albeit quite dazed. Cameron was not as fortunate. He suffered a slight concussion, multiple fractures of both cheekbones and a broken nose.
This is horrible, the Mets are only 4 games back in the wildcard race, and we cannot afford the loss of our right fielder. Cameron has been playing great this year, a solid #2 hitter. And unfortunately it looks like he will be out indefeinitely… tough loss tonight…

ouch, I hope both of them are alright
