Mets 53-52; Deenz List 3-5

Heres my weekly update on my two teams, the Mets and Deenz List.

The Mets had a rough road trip this past week going 2-5, almost getting swept by the dreadful rockies, and losing 3 of 4 against the red-hot houston astros. Although the Mets salvaged a couple of wins avoiding sweeps, these losses hurt, and if were gonna make a run at the playoffs we better start racking up some wins. Were now last in the NL East! And on top of that, the trading deadline expired last night, and we GOT NOTHING! We were rumored to get Alfonso Soriano and Manny Ramirez, and the latter player ALMOSt was sent to the Mets in a three way trade that unfortunately didnt work out. Bad Week for the Mets.

Speaking of 2-5, this was our record after losing game one of the weekly double header in the South Asian Softball League. We lost a tough game against the league leading Shock. After an early 2-2 tie, the Shock went on to lead big, as much as 8-2 for a few winnings. In the 6th inning, we managed a little comback scoring 4 runs, but that wasnt enough as we ended up losing 8-6. Yours truly ended up lining a hit straight to the 3rd baseman (Ghulam Ali - current favorite to win league MVP) who caught Umar off the bag for an inning ending double play with the bases loaded. Tough play, and a tough loss… And the 2nd game was almost another disaster as we ALMOST lost to the other expansion team, the Mosquitoes (who we DESTROYED week 1 like 21-7 or something) . At the end of 6 innings ,we were down 5-2. However, in the top of the 7th, our clutch performers came through big. Atif led off the inning with a huge triple. He ended up scoring on a clutch single by Umar. After Usman got on base with a single, our team MVP, Nadeem Khan, brought them both him with a game winning 3-run Homerun. Alhamdulillah! it was a great game. And just as pleasing was the fact that we held onto the lead leaving the Mosquitoes scoreless in the bottom of the 7th to hold on to the victory, leaving the Deenz List at 3-5, and the Mosquitoes 1-7.

And finally, some news on my website:
- Pics were added from Saturday nights little party in my gallery.
- I finally transferred over some guestbook entries from my old guestbook to the one on this current site (i couldnt fix the times/dates of entry, sorry)
- I got my first hate mail regarding something i wrote on this site. lol. Ill prolly share it in a post sometime later this week.
