End of an Era… Deenz List finishes season 2-2
Published by Haseeb May 2nd, 2005 in School, SportsIt really hit me today, this is all coming to an end. University life, living on Stony Brook, all the chilling and free time, just bonding with all the brothers i have come across these past 4 years… and jsut like that itll all be coming to an end.
Sophomore year, along with several other brothers, we started an intramural softball team and named it the DEENZ LIST. Out of all my intramural teams (including basketball and football) I have always been most passionate for my softball teams, and it shows since i was captain the last three years of the deens list (actually last year it mightve been ali, but i still felt like the captain). And earlier today, I played my final game as a member of the deens list - my final game as an intramural participant at stony - and maybe my final game at Stony Brook. Alhamdulillah we did win though. And we won big: 13-2! We played well, and the better team won. However we didnt play well enough this season. We finished with a 2-2 record, and two other teams in our division have 3+ wins, leaving us finishing 3rd in a division of five teams.
Oh well, alhamdulillah it was fun. I really enjoyed playing with every1. The love I have for so many of these brothers cannot be explained. Especially that for my co-captain, Usman. I have nothing but the most props to give for all you guys especially those who showed up for most the games and gave their all on the field: especially Naveed, Arsalan, Nabeel, Misbah, Mohsin, Saquib, Junaid, Omair, Nadeem, and Zaki. It has been a pleasure being your captain and I really enjoyed this season. Inshallah I hope you returning students continue on in our legacy. I expect Naveed to be captain next year and I hope he along with the rest of the core team takes the Deenz List to even bigger and better things - at least a winning record inshallah! 
Once you leave Stony, it all goes downhill…
