Denouncing America while you finance a terrorist organization does make you anti-American, regardless of how many gold medals you have.

What would you suggest? We just turn our eye to the inherit problems with Islam and just shrug it off as a "select few" and hope for the best?

I'm sorry, but until the rest of the Muslim world (Yes, I know, 99.9% of the Muslim world is peaceful) starts standing up and saying loudly, and clearly, that they will not support or protect those who commit acts of terror, then you will have people like the U.S. government, Britain, and everyone else doing the job of clensing the "bad Muslims" for you.

Hakeem won a Gold Medal at the Olympics with the USA Basketball team. When Mahmoud Abdur Raouf was scrutinized for not standing up for the national anthem, Hakeem stated that he disagreed with his opinion and proudly stands up himself and is proud to be an American.

BTW Hakeem is so cool. I remember going to Houston and attended a Young Muslims neighbornet (halaqa) and Hakeem was just lying down like a few feet away from the Halaqa and everyone was just used to it.
