The REAL Dream Team: Iraqi Soccer Team
Just like last week, Iraq wins, and the US loses. haha
First of all, Team USA didnt play that poorly today. Lithuania was just as good. We should put to rest all complaints about not having the right players there and so on… The rest of the world simply caught up with the US in talent. Lets see how the medioce .500 (2-2) US fairs in the rest of the olympics. They still have a shot to compete for the gold if they beat Angola (the worst team in Athens) next. I liked how that Lithuanian player stared down lamar odom in his face after he nailed the cluth 3 pointer and the foul.
This is the only time you will ever find me watching soccer on TV. I cant help but to root and even pray for the Iraqi soccer team. They beat Australia 1-0 today, and their only goal came on a beautiful bicycle kick. (Sorry i dont remember players names). They are the ultimate underdogs and have overcame soo much and are now only 2 wins away from the gold. Theyre extra effort and effort was no better exemplified in the 2nd half when one Australian played knocked the ball it over the goalies head and how he ran back and went diving into the goal to barely save the soccer ball from crossing the goal. Inshallah the Iraqi soccer team can do it and they will do it. The Iraqi team is the REAL DREAM TEAM.
